Hi there I’m 24 years old and have had some health problems and was really looking for some friends who could help with advice or even just motivation on this journey. I would love to know what some of you have done to lose weight and who would be willing to be there for support and I would do the same for you as well.

    1. Welcome to MFP
    2. Know that you’ve GOT THIS!
    3. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.
    4. Keep your eye on the prize
    5. Remember that weight loss is not linear

Thank you so much guys, that means a lot and it definitely helps to be reminded of all that as well. Hoping to see a lot more progress and a lot more inspiration while being on here

I learned how to log what I ate in the food diary. I used measuring cups at first and eventually bought a digital scale. And another. And another. Now I have one at home and one at work. The first one is dead and gone. Odd, too, as the first one was most costly. I learned to pay attention to people with 4 digits in their post count. I don't present myself as an expert, and for sure I get plenty of woo (the bad kind) from posting so much, but don't let that kind of stuff deter you from putting yourself out here and asking questions. You can't learn if you don't expose your ignorance.
