Hi! Looking to get in a support group of encouraging people.
Here's just a little about me.
I'm 23yrs old and I've been overweight most of my life. I've always struggled with my weight throughout my life. I've been bullied and called a whale etc. That was when I was in middle school and I'd give anything to be that size again. I've tried to lose weight before and always end up falling back into my old habits. I'm married and my husband is one of those who are like "I love you just the way you are..." type of people which I really appreciate but I need to lose weight. It's always affected my life and it's just getting worse. I feel bad about myself. I need to stop putting it off or making up excuses. I want to live life to the fullest and not sit on the sidelines.
I started eating better and walking with a friend of mine in fall of 2016. I was doing job training for a call center (ugh). My friend is in high school so I would walk with her after she was out of school. When training was over my shift changed to 4:30pm-1:00am. I kept on counting calories, eating healthier, and exercising + trying to walk at least 2 miles a day. I lost only 5lbs after all that hard work. I was so disappointed. I felt like I should have lost more. I wish I had stuck with it.
My friend on the other hand ended up joining a gym. She lost a lot of weight and I'm really glad for her, but I feel bad when I'm around her now. It just reminds me that I didn't see it through. I could've been right there with her. I love her to death and she is more of a sister to me and I am SO proud of her for doing what I could not. She acts like true self now and I'm so happy to see her feeling better about herself. I really want that too.
Anyway I really hope some people can relate and will join me on this long journey. My first goal is to lose 50 pounds then keep on keepin on. I need to loose over 100 pounds and so far it's been a losing battle. I would love to help others as well. We all need encouragement and positive people in our lives.
I hope to hear from someone soon!
Good luck!
PS. I ended up quitting that awful call center job It was heckin awful!

Friends are great, but don't rely on them for weightloss. Your friend lost weight, without you, because she decided that she would, and did. Losing weight isn't something you try - you either do or don't do it.1

Weight loss may be an individual journey but having support from friends or other people with similar goals definitely helps and also makes it more fun! I'd love to share support and encouragement with you!0

One thing I've found that helps is not looking at the big number. Make small, realistic goals. Maybe not even2

Just keep going. You can do it, same way your friend did it. Try swimming or home workout videos. I also go walking/hiking but the truth is I need to sweat more in order to lose more, I have to work harder. You do not have to join a gym to do that.
Keep up your walking but also include some heavy sweat fests on those days.
We can do this0
