I’ve beee counting calories for 2 months and gained 2.5lbs why has this happened?

    You say you're counting calories. Be sure not to estimate/guess portion size. Need to weigh solids and measure liquids. There's a great link in the start up line which shows how failing to correctly capture portions is r/t lack of weight loss.

    If you don't use one yet, get a food scale and weigh everything instead of using cups. This is much more accurate! Also, if you are logging restaurant food or things without exact nutritional info, overestimating on things you can't find an exact match for is the best way to ensure you can come out at a deficit! Are you exercising? Did you eat a lot of sodium recently? Your feed is private but if you are a woman, is it close to your time of month? Those would be reasons for water retention.

    Otherwise, if you know for certain there is no way you could be incorrect with your logging, you may need to go to the doctor for tests to ensure you don't have anything wrong that could be impacting your results (PCOS in women, thyroid issues, etc).
