Today is week 4 for me. Ive officially lost 6lbs. every step of the way has been a huge struggle. I fell like as hard as Ive worked I should be down like 20lbs or some other crazy amount. My first goal is 10lbs and it seems so far away.

What are you struggling with? How hard are you working, what are you doing, why? You lose weight by just eating a little less, and maybe moving a little more. You are losing at a very impressive rate. To lose 20 pounds in 4 weeks, you would have to weigh 500 pounds or something.1

You need to build sustainable habits, not ounich yourself into losing weight!. Are you struggling with your workouts? If so, are you working out a reasonable amount? Doing workouts that you enjoy? Or are you struggling with the food? Are you eating all you should? Have you tried setting your loss goal to 1lb/week? Have you tried playing with your macros to feel more satisfied within your goals?0

thank you it feels good to hear you say what ive done is impressive. i dont actually think i should have lost 20lbs. i just feel as though ive worked that hard and in the past i would have lost at least 10lbs by now not 6.
im working so hard and not getting very far. i spend all my time thinking about food. dreaming about the food i wanna eat, looking up ways to make it healthier and there’s the meal planning, meal prep/clean/storage, feeling hungry between meals which then leads to more meal planning. cause if a meal didnt keep me full until snack then i need to change something about the meal. i feel like im working very hard and thought i’d be able to lose 10lbs in a months time. at this rate it’s gunna take me two months. how long have yall been doing this? what are your sustainable habits? does it get easier? do you feel like your life revolves around food? do you ever get to the point of auto pilot? how long did it take you to get there?
im diabetic with PCOS and high triglycerides - like so high my doctors are always in disbelief. i also have a one and half year old. im trying to clean up my eating habits so he doesnt go down the same bad road i did. i need to lose 50lbs. Im focusing on meals around 350 cals 45 carbs and snacks 150 cals 15 carbs. im biking when i can. i tried running last fall and it messed up my knees something awful. i legit hate exercise so it has to be fun and i find biking extremely fun. i think i need to do more exercise. what do yall do thats fun?
i did try to bump my goal to 2lbs a week but it left me ravenous and i ended up devouring everything i could get my hands on at the end of the day.

You are one of the hard working mums. But you can't speed up weightloss. If 50 pounds is all you have to lose, maybe 2 pounds per week is just too aggressive. If you're hungry a lot, it definitely is. 1% of your bodyweight is the most you can expect to lose, healthily, on average, if you're morbidly obese. And you're not. And your max rate now, will decrease further as you get lighter.
But to give you some more realistic expectations, you're not supposed to feel full all the time. Feelings are subjective, and so are feelings like hunger and satiety, but the normal most-of-the-time feeling is "empty", then really hungry before meals, then somewhat satisfied after a small meal, and somewhat full after a big meal. On the other hand, you can eat food you like, no reason to fuss about making it "healthier". Normal foods and meals should be sufficient. Maybe you can rearrange your calories into more satisfying meals? Maybe no snacks, but instead loosening the rules for your meals? But if you're eating according to your doctor's instructions, talk to him/her before you change anything!
Healthy eating habits is not just a healthy diet, it's also a healthy relationship with food. It is taking care to get in proper nutrition, not consistently overdoing it, but also feeling relaxed around food, eating food you enjoy, and allowing yourself pleasure from food.
I actually lost 50 pounds myself, it took me a little over a year (2013-14). I have become someone who loves food, instead of someone who abuses food. I live alone, am kinda poor, hate to throw out food, need variety and good taste, so I plan my meals. This means I have to think about food; I do it a lot more than I have to, though, but in the form of playing with food (in my mind), arranging it, looking forward to meals and occasional treats. I cook a lot form scratch, but I enjoy it, because I make wonderful meals (simple, but delicious, just like I want it). I feel this is very sustainable - I'm flexible, but there's nothing structurally I want to change. My eating habits have merged with other habits into easy, overall smooth routines.
I don't really exercise, but I dance and play and walk. I maintain a healthy weight, effortlessly, the only challenge is some annoying but tolerable cravings, some of which I give in to.5 -
Losing weight/ changing your lifestyle is a struggle. If you've lost 6lbs so far and your first goal is to get to 10lbs down then you're just over half way! You are doing it!!! ☺ Nothing changes over night and it is hard work, you will be hungry sometimes but little by little you will get there. You've already done good work so keep it up and power on.2

Hey there, higher proteins will be keeping you much more satisfied .I'm on a 1200kcal a day but I get 120-160 g protein and is feeling way much better than 1200 kcal out of 'whatever'.When our bodies needs protein ,the feeling is known as hunger.0
