I'm still continuing to struggle to get back on the bandwagon as far as working out and eating better. Ever since my accident I'm having a super hard time. I even looked through pictures of when I was younger and skinnier. Nothing seems to motivate me and I feel so lost and don't know what to do.

I hate being the size I am, and having rolls the way I do when I wear fitted shirts and stuff.....Sometimes I feel like giving up, but I know I can't.

I'm in your corner. Don't give up. Instead of looking at old pictures and getting depressed, think about what the weight has done to you and get fightin' mad. My weight has robbed me of my confidence, good health, and energy. I'm worth fighting for. The fat ain't gonna win!
  • Stick to it! Look how far you've come already and it has only been a few months! I know how hard it can be, maybe try a new workout and keep mixing it up until you find something you love. Do you have a groupon or living social account? These can be great ways to get into new workout program, so far I've tried Hot Yoga, Rock Climbing and a boot camp (which I didn't love, but now I know!) I now climb and go to hot yoga at least once a week along side my Pilates and Body Pump classes. I know you can do it!
  • I understand what you are feeling, I am having the same trouble. I started on my weight loss journey on Feb 14th (a Valentine's Day present to myself) and did really well with my trainer at the time (lost a total of 24.5 lbs). Then I kinda lost steam around the middle of May, and have been struggling with "putting the wheels back on the bus" ever since. I am now with a new trainer who is much harder and much more focused (less like a friend and more like a mentor), and that has really helped with the exercise portion of my healthy eating/healthy lifestyle plan, however I am still struggling with getting my eating habits back in line. I restarted with MFP, and am trying my best every day, but as you know, all it takes is a few slips and POOF you're back over the line again. I'm happy to be a cheerleader for you ... cuz sometimes just having someone telling you you're doing great helps ... feel free to friend me if you like!

YOU CAN DO THIS...ONE STEP AT A TIME!! MAKE SMALL GOALS...5 POUNDS AT A TIME AND IT WONT FEEL SO OVERWHELMING!! IT TAKES TIME..MUCH PATIENCE AND PERSISTENCE...THINK OF YOUR WORKOUT TIME AS A PART OF YOUR DAY..JUST AS YOU ALWAYS BRUSH YOUR TEETH ETC...I HAVE FOUND THAT ONCE YOU MAKE SOMETHING A HABIT IT REALLY HELPS..THE FIRST THING I DO IN THE MORNING IS MY WORKOUT..I KNOW LATER IN THE DAY I WONT SO THAT WHY I ALWAYS DO IT EARLY AND GET IT OUT OF THE WAY!! i HAVE LUPUS AND SOMEDAYS I DONT FEEL LIKE I HAVE THE ENERGY TO DO IT BUT I TRY ANYWAYS THEN USUALLY END UP FEELING BETTER AND MORE ENERGETIC BECAUSE I DID..EVEN IF ITS ONLY A LITTLE WALK OR SOMETHING! WELL,IM HERE TO ENCOURAGE AND LEND AN EAR..FEEL FREE TO ADD ME!! HAVE A GREAT DAY!

I was diagnosed with a small form of lupus when I was younger myself! Nothing serious that they've kept an eye on or anything.

I work split shifts and I usually go to the gym in between as I have 3-4 hours off in between. So I go for 2 hours. Usually i'm ok with that, I just find it hard on a day off to go, or when I get my monthly.

I wanna log all the food I eat like I used to, but I forget sometimes, and I know I should be doing it!
  • I think that we have all been in your shoes. I started my MFP journey several months ago & I first chose to watch what I was eating without exercising. While that was working because my caloric intake dropped drastically it was not giving me the results I wanted. Let's face it we are a "quick fix" society & we want results immediately. I wanted so bad to be thin but I wasnt not doing EVERYTING in my power to change it. I was sick of being depressed & making excuses. I wanted CHANGE. I started working out, but then didnt workout for several weeks & that is when I knew that I was not a good self motivator & needed someone else to kick my butt into gear. With much hesitance I decided to hire a personal trainer. Some of us just need someone else to be accountable to & well I am one of them. I am strength training 3 times a week and try & get as much cardio as I can without burning myself out. It may be something you should look into.....unfortunately it is not like MFP (free) but at least you are doing something GREAT for your health! I would love to see you succeed on your journey & NOT GIVE UP! I have been there & we need each other to motivate one another. Feel free to friend me....we are all in this together!!
