I simply assign a number I am comfortable with per minute. If I’m trying to lose weight that’s 1 or 2 calories a minute, if I’m in maintenance around 7 calories a minute.
Having said that, there’s no way to create a formula that accurately track most CrossFit a WODs. They are, by nature, constantly varied. Unless you are doing a HERO or a benchmark, you shouldn’t repeat it for awhile. Some workouts have Olympic lifting, others are all body weight; some have sprints, some have distance; some have gymnastics, and most gave a combination of two or three of these.

I would use the circuits workout and input about 300 calories worth. Now i have my activity tracker i let that sort it out though i know it is not very good at estimating anything other than steady state cardio. 300 seems to be a good average estimate when i compare that number against what my garmin gives but thats suitable for me. if you are heavier, lighter, taller, shorter, older, younger your results will be different.1

Do you mean the calories that you burn from the WOD or the calories that you burn from constantly talking about it?
