I dont eat much meat and have a low protein issue.
What worked for me was meal replacement drinks.
I look at them more as Nutrition replacement.3 -
I am not a fan of Tofu either and I do avoid Soy products as it may inhibit the Thyroid medicine absorption I am taking. We eat lot of beans especially kidney beans, Lentils and home made protein powder. It is not the cheese or the bread that makes us gain weight but lack of portion control. I still eat cheese, bread, rice etc., but smaller portion of it.2

Good protein sources are lentils, beans, chickpeas, green peas, quinoa, nuts, seeds and nut butters. Add nutritional yeast to many dishes for extra protein. Broccoli, spinach, asparagus, artichokes, potatoes, sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts all contain protein as well.1

Hi! I'm actually a vegan and have no problems at all with finding protein! If you want you can add me on here and copy some other the recipes I use. Here are some examples:
Fantastic "meatball" recipe, I recorded it as having 8 servings. Each serving is 24g protein, 17g carbs, 12g fat (259 calories)

Barbecue vegan "ribs", I recorded it as 2 servings (not including the bbq sauce). Each serving is 53g protein, 15g carbs, 5g fat (375 calories)

Seitan, aka "wheat meat", is a fantastic protein resource. But really so are bean, whole wheat, and nuts. Have you seen the documentary "Forks Over Knives"? It's really informative and on their website there are also a LOT of great and healthy plant based recipes.
