I don't think there is anything wrong with having something you love every now and then. Just be mindful of proportions and savor it!0

That's true, it's just some days all I want to do is eat cake or something sweet.0

i used to be the same way. i LOVE LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOOOOOVE CHOCOLATE CAKE!!! ive gotten into the habit of when i want something that i know i shouldnt eat i make myself wait 15 min. if i still want it i eat it. usually i dont though... and this seems a bit morbid i know but when i first started this exercise i would stand in front of a mirror for a few minutes and think about how i used to look and how my binge eating makes me look now.
now if i know im going to be around chocolate cake then i prepare for it during my work outs through out the week. maybe ill walk an extra lap uphill and down hill every night or add a 3 laps to one of the sets in my swimming exercises...0 -

YUM! Just have a portion size and leave it alone! You can always get another piece later/tomorrow. AND... I Love cake!!!!!! It is easy for me to devour a whole cake in one day! But I choose not to *smile*
Don't eat the WHOLE cake0 -
i have a great way to have your cake and eat it too take a chocolate cake mix, only mix in one can of diet soda, no other ingrediants, bake as normal and cover in fat free whip cream, its to die for and hardly any calories!0

Me too, lol. I just tell myself to get through today without eating any sugary foods. I usually manage it, then the next day is that little bit easier. After 3 days or so I don't seem to need the cake any more. If I really need some sugar I eat dried fruit instead. It satisfies the sugar craving but because it is fruit sugar it doesn't make me crave cake again 5 minutes later. Just take it one day at a time and try to avoid all processed sugars.
Whatever you do, for the first few days of avoiding processed sugary foods, don't let yourself get too hungry or you will want to grab that cake. If you can find protein-rich alternatives for snacks you may be able to avoid some of the hunger. Fresh fruit is also a good option if you need something sweet.
If you really want to overcome this you will be able to do it (although it will be hard at times)
Good luck with it0 -
If you want to understand why we do the things we do that is considered harmful? Or why we do things. Check out this woman's review of Dr. Lisle's The Pleasure Trap. After watching her review you can watch his presentation.

I think it's okay to eat cake (and other goodies) occasionally.
Here are some things I've read/heard lately that have been running through my mind:
* It is permissable, but is it beneficial? (from Made To Crave)
* Don't reward yourself with food. You are not a dog. (from Pinterest)0 -
i also love cake.0
