You don't gain fat from eating more carbohydrates than protein. You gain fat from eating more calories than your body is using. Those calories can come from carbohydrates or protein (or fat).
That said, if you want to adjust your goals to eat more protein, you can do that.6 -
I work construction go to the gym and do cardio core and strength training 4 days a week so I am trying to figure out how much protein I should eat a day I feel like 80 grams might not be enough3

You just have to keep losing weight. There is no exercise that can target fat from a particular area.
The mid section is primary fat stores for many people...primary fat stores are a first on, last off proposition.5 -
Almost half my diet is carbs (usually hangs out at 45%), for the first time in years, I'm love handle free all about the calories deficit, though strength training helps in giving you the ultimate shape you want.3

Fork put-downs and table push-aways. You lose fat by eating less calories than you burn. Carbs have nothing to do with it, and there's no exercise (or food, or supplement) which will target fat in a certain area of the body.4 -
You can't control what part of the body fat goes to, or goes away from. That would be nice. Lyposuction perhaps could be a method if you want to target an area, lol. For me, the love handles were the last thing to come off.3

Why don't you first figure out how many calories, approximately, you should be eating.
It sounds to me that you have decided to go for 1200 Cal a day.
Why do you think this is appropriate for you? Is 2lbs a week an appropriate rate of loss? What is your current weight, height, age, and goal weight?
Are you planning on logging your construction work and gym time separately?
Are you planning to eat back the extra calories you will get for the additional logging?
Are you counting the % of these calories you will be eating as protein when you're worried about the 80g being too low?
People don't usually require more than 0.8 to 1g of protein per lb of lean mass in the healthy weight range.
This usually translates to about 0.6g to 0.8g per lb of weight in the healthy weight range.
So for a person for whom 150lb would be in the heathy weight range this would be 90g to 120g of protein per day.
