Food Regrets...

I can imagine that many of us on our weight loss journey have made a food choice that we regret soon after.
I made one today when I was rushed and in a hurry. Stopped in to McDonald's, and choose a cheap 370 calorie McChicken sandwich. It was salty and greasy, tasted like the mystery meat served in a college cafeteria. Nothing healthy about it. The deed is done, so tomorrow I will be back at eating better food choices. But I swear that I will never eat another McChicken sandwich again.
Question: What food(s) have you regretted eating afterwards if any?

If it changed your future in a good way then no regrets...log it and proceed12

i love spicy but overdid it on the sirachi sauce and got bothered as it moved through at every junction.4

Unhealthy food, once in a while, is totally fine. I don't regret having a cheat meal, but it often lead to a cheat day, which is not good, and would lead to a big regret afterward.2

McDonald's. I was so hungry an hour later and went over my calories.3

Similar - my mother's cooking, she gave me Salmonella poisoning in 2001 and I spent 8 days in a 1 metre max distance from the toilet.
OP give yourself a break a McDs Chicken Sandwich might not have been your best choice but it's not totally devoid of nutrition it still has 15g Protein, 2g Fibre, 2.5mg Iron and a little vitamin A & C not really worth persecuting yourself over.
Personally I have enjoyed McDs a good few times during my weight loss and I don't regret it at all because it fit my calories and my macros at the time in most cases.9 -
I love McDonalds. Never regret eating there.
I always regret eating chinese takeout after I'm done. I crave it. It's delicious while I'm eating it. But when I'm finished I feel gross and tell myself I'll never eat it again.....then eat the leftovers the next day and the cycle continues. I think maybe because I overeat it? IDK...7 -
Lenny and Larry cinnamon cookie last night. Blech! Horrible after taste. Luckily I threw it away before eating my half.1

I mostly regret when I see goodies out in the staff room and jam them in my face, either leaving me with no calories for dinner or knocking me out of a deficit for the day. Or in my case, maintenance.2

I had a fish fry recently I regretted. It just wasn't worth it. I didn't regret the dinner roll and butter one bit though2
-
Soft cheese - I love it but oh boy does my tummy NOT like it so I aim to steer clear of it as much as possible...unfortunately1

Went out for dinner last night (I'm not a big bread person) but, for some reason it was calling me. Italian bread with olive oil was so delicious! I had three pieces...ugh! I did not eat all of my dinner-bought about half of it home.2

anything i eat at work i work long hours and dont have breaks and its very physical so i have to wash my hands best i can and eat quickly in the few downtimes.....very very easy to poison myself with whateversi n the mud on my hands >.<
And future regret will be all the food ill eat today (a turkey dinner and they are all bakers) if it were one day itd be okay, But its two days. And When its 2 days it leads to me being like *kitten* it for a few days before and after ...Bad foods breed bad food choices. Sets my cravings going. The regret will be minor ill just be annoyed at putting on 5-10 pounds for a few weeks xD Then itl renew my mindset though. Its been a part of my process for 2 years now i go hard and its delicious3 -
Fried chicken, prepared poorly. The breading was not crisp, meat was dry. Very disappointing, only had part of the servings but didn’t know how to caluate the calories. I was still hungry so filled up on bread. Entire meal was unsatisfactory and not worth the calories.3

You got to have your cheats, life is too short. Just don't let it totally derail your program. Log it, be honest, and move on.

I think the point was that this wasn't a "cheat" in the sense that OP didn't even enjoy the meal.
I've regretted putting my hand into the chip bag, thus unleashing the old "you can't eat just one..." demon. If I just avoid the first one, I'm fine, but stick that hand in and it's all over. I usually wish afterwards that I hadn't had the chips, as they're rarely worth the calories to me.
On the other hand, we're driving to the beach tonight, and I'm looking forward to a McChicken from McDonald's along the way . It's a recent discovery for me, since I don't get their hamburgers. I do request no mayo because I hate it, and I add lettuce, and onion.7 -
pizza earlier this week.. it's my favourite pizza place because they tend to make them really thin and don't put a bunch of meat & cheese on them, and they use really tasty mushrooms... except yesterday I got way more cheese than they usually use... was a bit disappointing tbh, my one non-home made pizza in ages and it made me wish i'd just made my own at home (I love pizza but hate large amounts of cheese)2

gota say this is the first time as far as pizza is concerned iv seen to much toppings being called dissapointing lol.7 -
A new crepe and waffle shop opened so I decided to try it. He put so much Nutella and chocolate syrup (yes, both) on the waffle I could not have more than a couple of bites. I love Nutella, but the amount of sugar on that thing was off the charts I almost gagged. I regretted that, and each bite probably had 2 tablespoons of Nutella.
Edit: another thing I regretted eating last month was eggs. Lent was getting close and I knew I wouldn't be able to have eggs. I love them, but I can't eat them more than a couple times a week. I had them 3 days in a row which resulted in nausea for nearly a week. It has been a month since I had them and I still can't even look at them.5 -
If it fits my macros, I don't regret anything...and even when I food binge on something, I still don't regret it. One day of going nuts isn't the end of the world. What's bad is when you have consecutive days, weeks and months of always overeating.3

Sure, stuff like that happens to me frequently but I don't really give it much thought. Just move on.
One thing I am working on is refusing food I don't want, though. It is hard for me to turn down something when it's offered by my mom because she will go to a lot of trouble to have a nice meal for me when I visit and it's usually just the two of us eating together...this week I ate a piece of cheesy garlic bread at her house and I didn't want it at all!0 -
A few days ago I bought a package of kale chips intending to eat the whole thing. I did. I regret doing that. I don't actually recall regretting anything else other than long ago in the early 1980's at an office potluck I sampled the stuffed grape leaves another co-worker offered.0

I think it's just that many of the pizza places that my family likes use *way* too much of everything, especially cheese, and it makes my mouth feel like it's coated in grease... it's also not very nice when it gets cold and there's this finger thick layer of hard cheese goo :P0 -
I don't really get food regrets about what I eat. I often have more regrets about splurging calories on a dish that wasn't as good as I hoped it would be when eating out.
I'm looking at you, underseasoned fried chicken.3 -
I had a BBQ brisket sandwich and fries a month or so back and something disagreed with me for days after. Eesh. Other than that I don't remember. Sometimes I get a bit snack happy after lunch but if I can ride that out by keeping busy I'm usually ok.1

I regretted ordering the Shamrock shake at McDonald's because it tasted like a toothpaste soup.13

I regret the fourth glass of wine I had at a wedding last weekend. I don't typically drink more than one every couple of weeks. I definitely paid for that!0

A doughnut that was total waste of "delicious points." If I'm gonna eat it, it better be worth the calories.5
