Snails and Worms on my Kale, Oh My

Every once in a while I find a worm or a snail on my local kale, mustard greens, or collard greens. I pick the little guy off and thank him for confirming that my produce is freshly grown and real! Then I eat it. The greens, that is, not the snail, lol. It's like a seal of approval. How often do you find stowaways on your produce and do you carry on or get grossed out.

Lately I've been buying bagged baby kale that has been triple washed. I hope that's good enough. I hate rinsing curly kale... so many nooks and crannies.1

As an avid hobby gardener, wash and move on. I choose not to use any chemicals in my garden. Bugs happen.1

As an old person, I can remember when almost all produce you bought at the store had some creature in/on it. Remember the joke "What's worse than finding a worm in your apple? Finding half a worm."3
