I've found my fitness pal very helpful. With the exception of my chocolate fix, I have been doing ok. My only problem is that I can't shake my cravings for the dark chocolate monds. I have an 80 calories piece just about everyday. Ok everyday. I have included an extra 10 min on my treadmill to burn off that piece of chocolate. Am I on the right track?

Dang, you are doin better then me!

You are okay. As long as you eat healthy all day, a chocolate craving at night is fine. Dark chocolate is better than milk chocolate. If u are keeping tabs on the calories, then even better. Stay within your daily calories and you should be fine.0

I think so, 80 calories is not that bad and dark chocolate is good for you! I found a candy called Bug Bites - it is one square of really dark chocolate, 80 calories and organic and - oh, heck, I can justify chocolate no matter what! :laugh:0 -
seems so....knowing and acknowledging what we are doing is important.....denying yourself everything is a recipe to failure in my opinion...plus you are working the calories into your plan so it sounds good to me0

Sometimes is feels like I'm cheating but, I have lost 8 lbs in 2 weeks eating chocolate almost every day. I have been trying different brands of dark plus 85% cocoa chocolate. Right now, I am loving Endangered Species 88% Extreme Dark Chocolate. I can have 3 small pieces for 84 cals and 1 gram of sugar. I found it at Kroger.0

I am in the same boat you are. I allow myself about 100 calories a day to devote to chocolate. Also, Skinny Cow makes great fudgesicles that are low in fat and only 50 calories per bar. My husband thinks I live on these!0

I agree... your craving is small (1 piece?! That's not bad at all compared to mine :ohwell: )
And I'm a firm believer in making sure to "give in" to your cravings once in a while. Total deprivation of "the bad stuff" almost always ends in a huge binge sooner or later, so a little bit here & there is totally fine. Keep up the good work! :happy:0 -

Only 1? You're awesome! I wouldn't be able to stop at 1. So, way to go and let that be you're motivational prize to keep going. Dark chocolate and an almond. That's actually quite healthy even.0

If you deprive yourself....you will end up caving. I truly believe that. Be proud that you are treating yourself to something reasonable each day...and in time, maybe you'll be able to think of different ways to treat yourself...a leisurely stroll, a manicure, a luxurious bath.....you get the picture. Enjoy!!!!:flowerforyou:0
