Hello I’m new I’m a former weight watcher member. My question is, we get a daily calorie intake limit day mine is 1520 day to lose 2 pounds a week... my question is if I exercise and burn off calories, do I bank those calories or can I use them?

If the 1520 was provided by MFP based on the information you provided then MFP assumes you will be eating back your exercise calories (most recommend to eat back 1/4-1/2). You can follow daily deficits or if you are going to "bank calories" then follow your weekly deficit.1

Awesome thanks for the info! Like I said I’m new to all this.
Yes. The MFP app gave me that daily calorie number when I plugged my info in. Does that seem too low?
I’ve heard people talk about “cheat meals”? What are those?0 -

This question can only be answered subjectively. Too low for you may be just right for me. Try it out and see how you do.
Cheat meals are eating foods that may put you in a calorie surplus. For me a cheat meal may be going out for a special occasion. Typically I plan these so that week I may have a few days of a more significant deficit so it can offset the surplus and hopefully the weekly deficit is still maintained. If you have been dieting for a while and are being accurate with logging, but find you are stalling this may require a cheat/refeed meal to stimulate your metabolism.2 -

You need to provide more information about yourself (height, weight, gender, daily activities) before anyone can rationally respond to that question. It's not one-calorie-goal-fits-all.I’ve heard people talk about “cheat meals”? What are those?
Different people define it different ways. Some people who view some foods as normally "off limits" define a cheat meal as one in which they eat off-limit foods, whether or not they are still within their calorie goals for the day. Some people define a cheat meal as one that puts them over their calorie goal for the day, regardless of the specific foods they eat.
ETA: Oh, and some people define cheat meal as an unhelpful term that encourages an unhealthy relationship with food.1 -
Hey there thanks for your reply! Yes this is the calorie count MFP app gave me when I plugged in all of my info. I also said I had very lite activity whatever the first option was.
Female, 33 years old I'm 5"5 and I'm a stay at home Wife. Current weight 290. Daily activitys include taking care of the house as well as yardwork during the week.
As my weight loss happens I will push myself to be more and more active.0 -
You will lose at 1520 cal a day. Just remember to log everything you consume with correct entries (no homemade or generic). If you don't have a food scale I would highly recommend investing in a digital scale that can weigh up to 20 pounds (I think I paid $20 for mine). The food scale is the best weight management tool out there.0

How much weight we talking at 1520? The app told me 2 pounds a week.0

Weight loss isn't linear so don't expect the same losses every week. Could be 2 one week and nothing the next. Just stick to your calorie goals no matter what.1
