As I realize that tomorrow is my birthday and I have not met my goal or even lost 5 pounds. With months of me "trying" but always giving up, Im asking for your help!

I need direction on things that I should be eating and sizes and motivation to keep me working out and just overall support with everything.

I dont have access to a gym but at home I do have Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, Slim n 6, elliptical, a home gym, and hopefully soon a rowing machine. I get bored of doing the same routine every single day thats why I gave up on the work out DVDs.

Im hoping to get some help on figureing out a work out routine that I wont get bored with. I usually only have 30 - 40 minutes a day ( if im lucky) to work out, but soon at night ( after the kids are in bed) I will be starting to walk again.

Please also feel free to add me as a friend!

Im just overall confused and lost and dont know where to start....

Without seeing your diary, it's really hard to say. Are you eating your exercise calories? Measuring and weighing your food? These things are important!

Your diary isn't open..... so I can't comment on that.

As for exercise, if you don't like the DVD's the best thing to do is just WALK!
You can do that anywhere.and if you have a dog, they will love you too.
You can burn a lot of calories walking.... put on some good music and go to town.

Instead of walking at night do a workout video. You'll get a lot more benefit from it. Walking doesn't get the heart rate up enough to burn fat.

edit - look for videos that alter the routine - 30 day shred, etc.
  • I used to pop in walking DVDs and my kids would join in....that was fun! Now, I just try to do Couch to 5K 30 minutes a day....hopefully, i can build up so I can exercise in a shorter amt of time. I also do Turbo Fire and LOVE that!

some web sites: http://fitbie.msn.com/ - http://www.prevention.com/health/ these are FULL of work out routines, menus & any kind of health/ fitness information
prevention has a 400 calorie meal plan - dozens of meals, most real simple for 400 calories

you're going to have to start reading labels (which is a good idea anyway)
maybe you should hire a personal trainer, just to give you a routine or try curves?
most everybody raves about Zumba, I haven't tried it yet but probably will when I feel more coordinated
it doesn't HAVE to be a classic 'exercise' program - take a dance or yoga class - ride a bicycle with your kids, they LOVE that.
Play with them - 30 mins of hiking or running with your kids doesn't seem like a 'work out' at all

bottom line is - you're going to have to WANT it
nobody can do it for you
how is what you're doing working for you?
  • if you have a wii you could get the game wii fit or wii fit plus there are lots of games and it helps buurn calories and exirsize at the same time so its what you like and can be same or diffrent and its a game... if you dont have a wii and you have xbox mabye the kinect system hope this helps

I have been where you are! Don't quit! Log every single thing you eat and try to pre plan your meals ahead of tine. This alone will help a lot. You can do this!
