Does a 5 pound weight gain make a difference in appearance?

I’ve gained over 5 pounds and noticed my thighs look thicker and my pants are a bit tighter. Does 5 pounds make that much of a difference in appearance?

Did you eat something really salty? Too much sodium does this to me. A big delicious bowl of ramen will have me up 3 pounds on the scale and make my pants feel too tight but it usually disappears the next day.0

Depends on how lean you are to start with and fat distribution.
I put on 8-10 Lbs every winter...I notice it more than other people do, but it's certainly noticeable when I have my shirt off. I'm usually 12-15% BF so 5-10 Lbs is noticeable in my midsection.

totally depends on a number of factors, How tall you are, how much do you weigh, Is it water weight, fat gain, some muscle gain, just bloating? I have pictures that 5 lbs difference look almost the same and others that theres a huge difference.1

I'm 5'0" and have a small frame so 5 lbs. is like 2 pants sizes for me.2

For context I’m a 5’6 female, usually 128, but I’m up to 133 pounds now. I know it’s fat gain since it crawled slowly up over time.1
