Exercising leading to blisters.

It seems no matter what I do (walking, running) I end up with blisters on my feet that make me not want to walk/run the day(s) after.
Today I walked for 1.5 hours straight and ended up with 3 painful blisters on the bottom of my feet. It might be my shoes but I seem to get blisters just walking in any shoes.
Is this just because I have been walking/running much more lately than I have in the past? Will my feet adjust to the friction?
Is there a way to prevent the blisters from happening or being less painful?
Tips/advice is appreciated!

Use duct tape over the spots you are prone to getting blisters. It really helps!
If you have a blister in the spot, you can cover it with a band-aid first...that way you don't rip off the skin on the blister when you remove the duct tape later.
I currently use a piece of duct tape (over band-aids) on my back heel to protect a blister I got. I walk 4 miles a day and the tape holds for the whole walk.

I run nearly every day and switch in and out of many shoes. Shoes do make a difference in a continued workout. I have burned through several running shoes every three weeks. But they protect me from blisters. Also I have found water intake helps heal my feet and makes me feel less tired. Are you drinking adequate water? I think you should start with shoes and if shoes don't improve condition, seek other alternatives.0

I picked up runners socks, they are polyester and have two layers, my feet glide in them. I also got a good pair of runner's shoes. I wear the socks with other shoes when i play baseball or doing other things and i dont have problems. The running store lady told me to not wear cotton socks they hold moisture and will cause friction because of it.0

Shoes - Blisters usually result from repeated rubbing of an area on the foot when moving. So make sure your shoes aren't too tight and press against areas that are prone to blisters. On the other hand you should also make sure your shoes aren't too loose, as your feet will then skid around in them which will also result in blisters.
Taping - As already mentioned above you can tape up parts of your foot to provide it with "extra-thick skin" which will usually help a lot. Personally I tape up the front of my foot for any walk from about 7 miles and up.
Socks - Try out different socks, if they have stitchings try turning them inside out to protect your foot from the stichings. Runners socks work well for some - old fashioned woolen socks over cotton socks work for others.
Hygiene - This is something many forget but I remember from my time in the services. Keep your feet clean and free of hard skin. Ideally your skin should be as leather; smooth, soft but tough.
Take a footbath once every 1 to 2 weeks (just use plain brown soap in hot water - nothing fancy there) and remove hard/dead skin with a file. It helps much more than one would even dare to imagine.

Things that will help: Good, well-fitted shoes and socks, tape on the parts of your feet that tend to get blisters (before you get them), blister gel pads on the blisters as soon as they start to form, and building up your walking/running time gradually so you get callouses on the parts that do rub. Also keep your feet dry: use powder if necessary to achieve that.0
