Make better food choices so you don't feel hungry. Higher protein and healthy fats help with satiety. You have to learn self control when it comes to old habits of wanting to indulge.2

This has been my problem too (and many others in MFP, I'm sure). For me, food choice makes a big difference. I find the most success if I eat highly satiating (and clean) foods, as opposed to highly-processed foods and/or sweets. I used to look at my daily calorie limit and think that I could find room for a candy bar provided I eat less for dinner, as one example. That proved to not work for me, mainly because a candy bar is not a satisfying food. For me, one candy bar only leads to another. Rinse and repeat. Plus, after I've eaten sugary foods, I get very hungry, which has often led to binging. I don't know what foods you eat but this is one place to explore. For me, after a few days of cutting these foods out of my diet, I feel so much better and, most importantly, NOT HUNGRY. Good luck on your journey...3

I do indulge in some sugary snacks but only small portions and well planned for. At night if I am truly hungry I choose something healthy. My go to snack when actually hungry is a cup of fruit with a light string cheese, a cup of Brussels sprouts with a teaspoon of olive oil, an apple with a spoon of peanut butter. I also walk small laps around the house during downtime to get more steps in for the day. It helps keep me accountable if I need to go over a little.1
