Would love to understand more about these topics. As I get fitter, what should I expect to change?

As you get fitter your max heart rate should decrease
e.g - Lance Armstrong, apparently has a really low heart rate0 -
Well, I know for a fact that as you do more cardio exercise, your heart becomes stronger, and thus becomes more efficient at pumping blood around your system with every beat. So, with more blood pumped per heart beat, the heart doesn't need to beat as often, so your resting and maximum heart rate should both start to fall. To give some indication, Lance Armstrong's resting heart rate (at the peak of his fitness) was around 32bpm. which is crazy.
I hope that helped giving you an idea.0 -
I guess Lance is very well known for that...0

I wondered about this! Mine seems to be really quite low?! 50-odd bpm and I'm a 25 year old female, 5'4'' around 133lb. Is that normal?! Often wondered/worried about this.0

here's a chart, look here:

mine is 63 and I'm 34 so that falls as "excellent".0 -
Hmmm I used that chart - my resting heart rate is 50bpm, which puts me in the category of 'athlete' for my age etc.
It still seems low though.... hmm confused.com0
