I found out in September that I’m diabetic. Wasn’t too surprised with my weight and family history. What really got me was my 43 year old cousin died unexpectedly of a massive heart attack, he was only 3 years older than me. At my 40th birthday I decided I had to do something. I starting going to the doctor, have my sugars somewhat under control, and last month walked into my third gym ever. In this last month I’ve done more than I did at the other two gyms combined.
My cousin’s death was a huge wake-up for me. I take care of my mom as her caregiver and I can’t even imagine what would happen to her if I’m not here.
So far I’ve learned I do better listening to metal, and I’m a country girl at heart, but if AC/DC and G’n’R gets me working out better I’m all for it.
