What kind of supplements do you use when you don’t eat much? What’s the best shakes that don’t involve dairy? I want more energy during the day without being up all night.

You shouldn't eat so little while you lose weight that you need supplements and shakes to stay healthy.
Choose a reasonable weekly weight loss goal and eat the calories mfp gives you. You can take a multi if you really feel like you need a back up.
I drink coffee in the morning for a little extra energy when I need it. I don't find shakes filling so they were never much help for me personally while I was losing - I found 200 cals of food was a better choice for me than a shake.0 -
What's the reason behind not eating much? Methinks that needs to be addressed first.3

Make sure you are eating at least 1200 calories a day. If you are avoiding milk, do you accept whey protein?0

Meal frequency is a personal preference, but you should still make sure you're getting enough caloriesamandadelmont21 wrote: »What kind of supplements do you use when you don’t eat much? What’s the best shakes that don’t involve dairy? I want more energy during the day without being up all night.
What do you mean by "you don't eat much"?0 -
Losing weight will give you more energy. I also take one a day vitamins that have energy added. Exercise helps also. I used to be a night owl and nap during the day. Now I am up by 5:15 am and rarely nap.0

How is this difficult this isn't the stone age you don't have to hunt, kill and skin your food. Get some fast food or easily prepared meals but if you get all your calories in 1 meal go for it anything else need to seek some professional counselling for an eating disorder. Or if you graze all day that is fine too the concept of meals is different for everyone but you must get your calories in your you are doing yourself harm.1 -

What do you mean by tone your body? Are you trying to lose weight or recomp (eat at maintenance)? Either way, calorie dense foods: nuts, nut butters, avocado, oils, syrups, candy, higher fat meats, lower fibre foods, white pasta, bread, noodles, pancakes, dried fruit, granola, smoothies. Eat often, plan and be prepared (always have food with you and in reach)0 -
To the OP:
I am on both iron and vitamin D supplement per doctor's order.
If you don't do dairy/whey, I find that Renew Life's "Skinny Gut Ultimate Shake" tolerable when mixed with unsweetened almond milk. It is still kind of chalky but you cannot expect a diet shake to taste like a fattening milk shake. It has 20g of plant protein per serving.
While the conventional wisdom is eat balanced meals, don't go too low on calories, etc., it works much better for me if I start with a couple weeks of about 1,000 to 1,100 calories a day, using shakes to replace one or two meals a day. This help retrain my mind that: 1. Food is fuel, not entertainment (the not-so-tasty shakes help). 2. It "shrinks" my stomach/appetite and get me eating reasonable portions again. 3. It is a no-brainer since most shakes contain about 30% of the macro and micro nutrient for a "normal" person. I don't have to think too hard about putting together a low-cal meal that is also nutritious.
After a couple weeks, I transition to more real food.
Disclaimer: I don't work for Renew Life. Also, what I described is something that works for me; your mileage varies.
