I am detoxing today through until Monday (5 Days) and only eating raw fruit and veg and drinking water and green tea. I want to get rid of all the toxins and also boost my weight loss. I am new to detoxing though so I am not sure how much good this will do? Am I being overly optimisitic in thinking I may loose around 3lbs by Monday?? I know everyone is different so I'm just putting it out there in the hope of finding people who have done detoxes before. Is 5 days a good amount for a detox newbie? And do any of you have any helpful tips and hints?
All help will be much appreciated! Thank you :) xx

I dont think you will lose 3lbs pounds of fat, it may be just 1lb and the rest water weight/"toxin"
there is another thread about fasting (which they have only raw fruit and veg but blend it) and they are losing like a pound every day.... HOWEVER as soon as you eat normally you put the weight back on. in this case though, you are eating not jucing so to be honest im not sure what will happen, it will be interesting to see

i periodically do a 24 hr fast if I had a really high calorie day the day before. But that may only occur once a month. Personally, I don't think its healthy but you'll find some people agree and others disagree. Best of luck to you!

I recently did a detox where I just ate fruit, veges and protein (and water). No processed food. Maybe do this, as just fruits and veges will not fill you up?

Now that you mention it, I want to do something like that too. I did detox once and made me feel light and "fresh" inside:-) As others mentioned, if you lose any weight, it will be more likely water/"toxins" (I think).

Ive never done a 5 day cleanse - I have had success with 2 days cleanses. I noticed though that if I do cleanse I needed to make sure I get nutrients in some way or form so I could keep my energy level up to keep moving. Green tea works great its a natural detox. This site might be helpful - it has great tips for food that detox the body.

    Good luck with your detox!

Personally, I think that if you don't know enough about it, you shouldn't be doing it.

They can be very unhealthy and even dangerous if you don't know what you're doing.

You really should talk to your doctor for the best advice.

Detox is good if you are doing it only for cleansing purpose, do not try it wth a mind set to use detoxification to lose weight.. Yes you will lose weight but the minute you start eating everything will bounce back even a pound more as body will store fat thinkong you might get into starvation again... I have tried numerous types of detox in last 1-2 years, tred juice fasting for 3 days twice , tried master cleanse , tried sugarcane juice diet upto 5 days , everything i lost weight , everything came back with a bang. I even tried a diet without salt and sugar only fresh fruits and veggies and that was my biggest mistake , the day i started taking salt , my body bloated like hell, i couldnt drink water coz every glass i drank my body retained it ,i am size 14 but couldnt even fit into size 16 for ggod 2 weeks, it took me 15 days to get back to normal size......

so in nutshell, cleansing is good but do it under guidance and with sole purpose of cleansing not weight loss else you'll be disappointed.
