Hi I am a vegetarian. I have been on my diet since January and have lost 2 Stone so far. I still have 3 more to go and am trying to make sure my diet stays healthy. I log my foods meticulously and this has helped to make me more aware of the nutrients I need. I also take vitamin supplements especially calcium and B12. The protein I eat comes from egg and Quorn but despite everything I don't seem able to get enough protein in my diet. I wonder if anyone can suggest some good protein rich foods I can try to boost this area of my diet.

Beans, tofu, seitan, tempeh, soy milk/yogurt, protein powder (hemp/soy/rice/pea).

I get my protein from almonds (snack), tofu, vanilla protein shake in my coffee, instead of creamer, and chocolate protein shake during the day. I rarely not meet my protein goal. I drink the Premier Protein, with 30g protein and only 1g sugar. I do not eats eggs. Good luck!

I was vegetarian for close to fifteen years. Soy and quinoa are complete protein sources of protein, so be sure to include these in your diet. Nuts, seeds, grains and other legumes are also great sources. If you’re eating eggs that certainly helps. Since most plants offer incomplete protein it’s important to have variety in your diet, you don’t necessarily have to eat legumes and grains in the same meal but within the course of the day.
