Three mini goals down - three to go!

I’m 5’3”, started at 170 lbs on Christmas day. I have been doing this at a very slow pace (.5 lbs a week) and setting mini goals of approximately 4 or 5 lbs at a time. Looking at an initial goal weight of 142. Today, I acheived my third mini goal of 157 (actually 156.5!). I am about half way there and can’t believe how painless it’s been. Counting calories and weighing my food is the easiest part of my day with MFP, and the light exercise I have been doing has given me tons of energy. Light strength training has made a big difference in the last few weeks. The biggest challenge has been in staying patient and trusting the process. Not yet ready for before and after pics, but maybe in a few weeks

Thank you! While the “I lost 100 lbs in 12days” stories are great reads, THIS is what I so needed to hear. Consistent, steady, no drama, strong success. Thanks for making my day and well done!

Oh my pleasure! I did weight loss the painful way 13 years ago (too restrictive, working out two hours a day) and I am positive that period of my life contributed to the injuries that have forced me to take the slower approach this time. I wish I knew then what I know now, so I hope my experience this time around can help someone else.

Great share, I have lost weight before and then regained it again. This time I am taking it slowly 1lb a week. I have got half way to my origin goal.
