hi
4 years ago I lost 35lbs after my first pregnancy but then I got pregnant again. I was really good during the pregnancy and even after I had my baby i only had 14lbs to loose. I was put on beta blockers after the birth and my weight ballooned. I have hovered over this weight now 4 stone heavier now for 4 years. I am now at my heaviest and need to stick to my fitness pal again. I am worried about health. I have 70lbs to loose and feel it is so much and don't know where to start but I have done it once and want to do it again.
anyone in the same position to help motivate each other?

xx

Yes!!! I have 3 children and ballooned with all of them. I have managed to lose 23 pounds now with 9 pounds to go.

You can do this. Track and log everything you eat honestly.. even on days where you go over. If you follow the process the weight will come off. Patience is key, slow and steady is best for weight loss.

Don't make drastic changes to diet. The deficit is the key. Eat the things you want/enjoy, as long as you're within your calorie budget you will lose. (My diet hasn't changed at all, still eat cake chocolate etc)

Something I realised when I joined my mfp was how sedentary I was - yes even with 3 children so I invested in a fitness tracker to hit 10k steps a day just by walking. But this is not necessary for weight loss it's the defecit of calories that is. I got the tracker to just become more active but I wouldn't be without it now.

    You can totally do this!!

Take it in small steps! Don't think of it as 70 lbs to lose, set a goal of maybe 5 lbs.

When you reach it, go for 5 more, and so on. If it wears on you take a break and maintain wherever you are for a month before trying for the next 5 lbs. Reward yourself (not with food) whenever you hit a goal (and set yourself goals that aren't just scale related) - walked longer, lifted more weight, avoided the snack table at work for 5 days in a row, ate enough protein, whatever.

You don't have to lose it fast, just keep trying to move in the right direction.

No kids, but due to stress and medical stuff I should lose 40 lbs - and at 5 foot nothing tall that feels like a lot!

    And welcome back to MFP!
