Garbage Bag in my Car

Odd forum post title, yes, but I thought I would share a little "success" moment I had today. Since I started my journey to lose all this insulation, I carefully pack weighed out lunch and snacks. I have a protein shake and a protein bar on my way in during my 40 minute commute. So, as I arrived today, I noticed the garbage bag in my car. What used to be full of McDonald's bags, Carls Jr. Bags, Taco Del Mar, Starbucks, and random Doritos bags now only has protein bar wrappers and an empty Aquafina bottle. It just got me thinking, "This is really happening this time. Go me!".

Strange for a success, perhaps. Hopefully others can relate.

This is awesome. Until I read this I didn't even realize how huge of a difference it is for me too.

I used to be so ashamed and embarrassed of all of the drive thru bags in my car. If I didn't have a plastic bag, I'd go out of my way to find one so I could stuff all the food wrappers in it and hurry it to a garbage without anyone seeing what I was throwing away. When I drove friends places I'd hurry and try to get to the car first to stuff all the bags under the seat so they wouldn't see them.

Now? I can't even remember the last time I've eaten in my car. No more walking into work with a weeks worth of drive thru garbage to stuff in the dumpster. Instead I can proudly walk around munching on a piece of fruit. No more shame in the food I'm eating and that's a huge win.
