Healthy snacks

Hi there I’m trying to lose body fat and gain muscle. I’m wondering if anyone can help me. Fruit has a lot of natural sugar so I’m trying not to eat to much organic fruit. However, I like a late night snack. What does everyone have for healthy snacks?

I’ve been doing the exact same and not snacking is hard, I’ve been sticking to nuts but trying not to eat too much because of the fats, I try and eat more at meals so I’m not snacky to be honest but it’s really hard!1

i love fruit. Eat tons of it daily. Why would you avoid fruit? Sugar is fine and fruit has high nutrients.
I freeze my fruit so it takes longer to eat, Frozen grapes are my favorite1 -
I don’t avoid eating fruit I eat a lot of organic fruit. However I’ve noticed I’m going over my daily sugar intake because I was eating so much. I done a bit of research and apparently eating too much fruit isn’t good for you. My daughter does that with her fruit. I’m always finding grapes in the freezer0

I’m new to this so just trying to figure out how to use it. Yeah I eat a small amount of nuts too because they are really good for you in small doses. I also will have a rice cake with peanut butter I buy from bulk powder for a snack. It’s really tasty. You might like that if you like nuts.

No sugars are not fine excess sugar turns to fat your body can only process so much and turns the rest in to fat cells. And sugar is sugar it’s all the same wether it comes from fruit or sweets the effects are the same. Like most things fruit is good for you definitely but in moderation.
As for nuts it depends what your eating nuts like almonds are high in fat yes but good fats fats the body needs so again as long as it’s in moderation you’ll be fine.
The healthiest diet in the world is the Greek diet which is 50% there is a misconception that fats are bad for you. Yes some most definitely are like trans fat the kind you find in fast food etc but some fats are aren’t like the kind you find in fish, nuts Greek yogurt etc again you need moderation and variety in your diet but fat isn’t the enemy sugar is

At night I snack on a fruit mostly because I have a sweet tooth. If you’re trying to cut down on your fruit intake, you could try whole wheat crackers or a bit of oatmeal with cinnamon? You’ve already gotten yoghurt and nut recommendations, too.1

You lose weight, over time, if you consistently take in fewer calories than you burn, and you do that if you set MFP to weightloss and eat those calories for real. It's hard to gain muscle in a deficit, but you can limit muscle loss by not eating less than recommended, and staying active. Those are the crucial things.
Meal schedules, sugar, organic, is all about values and preferences, at least it should be - you might want to read up, using reliable sources, and apply critical thinking - all those little details can be helpful for you if you find them meaningful, and drag you down if you don't, and just think you have to do things a certain way.
Personally, I don't snack, I couldn't care less about whether the label says "organic", I don't worry about sugar, I don't separate things into natural and unnatural(?), healthy and unhealthy, I eat what I like and try to do so in moderation. When I want something new/special, I will look for recipes or in the shelves in the grocery store.2 -
I think the fear of fruits is an issue! You can certainly enjoy fruits! Your weight loss is based on your calories in vs your calories out! Just make sure you adjust your meal plan for the day to allow the fruit. I agree that there are sugars in fruit, and that sugar is bad, but there is also FIBER in most fruits...
I've been on a steady weight loss of 5lbs a week (sometimes more sometimes less) and I allow my fruit. I'm a pretty big guy who is no longer afraid of food, I just utilize discipline to compensate for my obsessive eating.
You got this, add me! I'd love to have another friend who is about improving their life!1 -
Thank you for replying everyone. I’ve been training and eating clean on and off for years. So I do know a fair bit about training and nutrition. I was a lean toned size 8 before having my second child. I had complications with my second pregnancy and I ended up going to a size 16. With eating clean and training I have got myself back to a size 10 in 7 month. I managed to get my weight back down to 8st 4lbs. However I’m gaining weight because of muscle so I bought myself body fat scales and downloaded this app to help me get my body fat down. I stick to clean meals no problem. However, I have a sweet tooth at night because of meditation I have to take. That’s why I was eating so much fruit. I’ve managed to cut down the fruit the last three nights and I’m not going over my sugar intake. I am snacking on fruit and nuts in moderation. Again thank you for all the replies0
