100 calorie snack suggestions please

As above...what are your favourite low calorie (around 100) snacks? No processed food please. Thank you x

I don't snack and I don't fear "processed" food, so my suggestion would be stop snacking, or at least, eat food you like, just like a normal person.25

I don't fear processed food but whenever I snack I try and make it low calorie/low salt/sugar. I didn't know snacking wasn't advisable as it is part of the food log here at MFP. Not sure what 'normal' people do as I am relatively new to losing weight. Thank you for your reply.9

I snack, I prefer little and often rather than larger meals so I get hungry every 3 hours.
On average my snacks are around 100 cals but can be 150-170. I will have whatever I fancy the list goes like this:
Snack size Kit Kat - 99 cals
Nestle Breakaway - 99 cals
Sainsburys Chocolate chip Brioche - 123 cals
Apple - approx 80 cals (depends on weight)
Banana - approx 100 cals "
KP Skips - 88 cals " "
Mixed nuts - 20g - approx 110 cals
Greek Yogurt - Oykos 153 cals a pot
Cracker and thinly sliced cheese - approx 120 cals
Wholewheat granary bread toasted with Lemon Curd - 120 cals
1/2 cinnamon raisin bagel with lemon curd or marmalade - 135 cals
Peanut butter - 25g - 120 cals
I say approx because personally I would weigh the nuts/cheese/fruit/butter/jams etc but its a good guideline for a low cal snack.

A piece of fruit? I have no idea, as my snacks are generally 300-400 calories.5

Weigh out 100 calories worth of 'your' favorite snacks you already love to eat.
I'm not anti processed food and 100 calories would not be very satisfying amount of food.5 -

You can snack if you want to. Many people advice it, others discourage it. In itself, it makes no difference. For me, regular meals and no snacks, does something to my mindset - makes it easier to stick to appropriate calories. The whole point with your food log (IMO) is the ability to see your whole day at one glance, and make adjustments so that you - as easily as possible - can hit, but not exceed, your calorie goal.8

Anyway OP, to answer your question:
I am up very early 4am and eat lunch at 12pm, so there is a long stretch between breakfast and my next meal. I definitely need snacks in between and also like to aim for the 100-200 calorie range. I'm assuming you are asking for the best 100 calorie snacks that will keep you satisfied/full the longest. Here are a few of my go-tos:
-100 calories: Quaker granola bar (thin mint flavor is my fav)
- 60-120 calories: fresh fruit
- 80 calories: string cheese
- 50 calories: Go-gurt yogurt tube
- 150 calories: Cup of yoplait yogurt
- 100-110 calories: Serving of Cheerios, Honey Nut Cheerios, or similar cereal
- 60 calories: Carrots and celery sticks20 -
fage greek yogurt - 1 tub = 170g = 97 kcal
Banana 1 kcal/g = 100kcal if you find the right one
Prawns 1 x 160g tub = 100kcal
Beef Jerky 25g packet = 100kcal

I don't mind anyone adding processed food - it may be helpful to others.
Just to clear something up - I had a medical examination recently which showed I had high cholesterol and high blood pressure. My father is diabetic so I probably have a little fear of that. My diet has been awful - no excuses - so I am looking to making healthier choices where I can. I am thinking that I may have my favourite processed foods as occasional treats rather than daily sustenance. It was my practice nurse that advised me to drop sugary processed food and drink.

Sounds like you want to cut out foods with processed sugar rather than processed food altogether1

Hi ap1972 - Yes! My favourite snack is humus with celery. I don't make the humus so technically it is processed I suppose.4

I second Popcorn. I buy Boom Chick a pop for when I don't have time to prepare it. 3.5 cups is 125 calories. Cottage cheese, Fruit, pickled beets or antipasto from Costco.2

My go to snacks are around 100-150 calories and include things like Beef Jerky and string cheese, cuties clementines and string cheese, 56g of deli turkey meat and cuties or string cheese. I was told by a dietitian eating every 2-3 hours will help keep you feeling full. People tend to overeat if they start to feel hungry. If you can't make it form breakfast to lunch or lunch to dinner eat a snack!5

These have probably been mentioned above, but these are some of my favorite quick afternoon 100ish calorie snacks. String cheese, Clementine, banana, hard boiled egg, measured out to 100 calories almonds (or any nut), a granola bar, pretzels, baby carrots & ranch or hummus, celery & cream cheese1

Do you like guac? Wholly Guacamole makes those convenient snack packs. My favorite, by far, is the chunky one. 120 calories. Paired with some low cal veg, it could be a mid/high-100’s snack.

This or snack packs of hummus are what I most often eat for a snack/small meal. I do best when there’s some fat and fiber (and/or protein). Fruit alone would leave me hungry again too soon, so I pair that with either some nuts or cheese. More calories up front that way, but it saves me more over the course of the day bc it keeps me full longer. People are different in that way though.
Small Fage containers with the fruit topping are in the low/mid 100’s. That’s another of my go-to’s.0 -
A salted hard boiled egg will keep me full for hours. I also like crunchy stuff to snack on, carrot sticks with hummus, apple chips, pretzel rods. When I meal prep my work lunches for the week I pre-measure out snacks at the same time, that way I just have to grab my lunch and a snackbag or two and run out the door in the morning.0
