Hey i am doing the keto diet ive research alot about this diet and i hear people experience something called the “keto flu” incase you are not aware of what that is basically when you stop eating carbs (glucose) you will be really low on energy and feel like crap because at that point in time glucose is what your body uses for fuel so before you go into ketosis you have to pretty much empty your glucose tank which can take up to a week for some people, but as the title says it cant be this easy is because i am currently on day 2ish i say 2ish because you could technically call it day 3 but in day one i ate 75 garms of carbs so i over ate them in my last meal but anyones i feel amazing full of energy and i work a exhausting job but i still feel great so i really dont know if it’s possible that i am already in ketosis, so i was just curious for all the fellow keto dieters how long did it take you to start ketosis and feeling great energy again because i feel like im skiping the whole “keto flu” ps incase it matters i am 180 pounds 5’10 and workout 5-6 times a week

You are right that it can't be that easy.
Keto works for weight loss the same exact way any diet would. You still need a calorie deficit in order to lose weight. Being in ketosis or not, a calorie deficit is still needed. Keto doesn't automatically mean healthy and doesn't automatically mean weight loss will occur. Calories are King. There's no magical diet that doesn't require creating a caloric deficit in order to lose weight. Keto isn't magic. If you like that way of eating, good for you! But it's certainly not necessary to be healthy or to lose weight.
Some people use keto stix to monitor if they are currently in ketosis or not.26 -
Some keto advocates say 25 g max.5

Some people get mild cases of the carb flu, others its harder and lasts longer (weeks)eduction6364 wrote: »JeromeBarry1 wrote: »Some keto advocates say 25 g max.

I understand that keto is usually a carb limit of 35 grams of total carbs and 25 grams of net carbs. (Net carbs are subtracting the grams of the fiber from the total grams of carbs.)
You can still lose weight without being in ketosis of course counting calories is still needed. It sounds like you missed out on the keto flu?4 -

Actually 'keto flu' is due to a drop in electrolytes which is usually due to the big water loss that happens at the beginning of keto. Not everyone gets it it seems, but it is common enough that people warn about it (although, not always what to do about it. I've seen a lot who tell newbies to 'just deal with it'.)4 -
I am glad you are excited but you need to temper yourself a bit because this is only day 3 and quite likely there will be rough patches and trials both physically and mentally ahead. I wish you were not excited about Keto but it appears to be the popular flavor right now. To be successful you will still need to count your calories because you can gain weight doing Keto. It is only a style of eating not a guaranteed weight loss system.11

That's wonderful that you've found that it suppresses your appetite in the past 48 hours. It usually takes people a lot longer to find what works for them so congrats!

That is right. Keto flu is actually an electrolyte imbalance. Most need at least 3000-5000 mg of sodium a day to avoid it. There is about 2300 mg of sodium in a teaspoon of salt, for reference. If you get fatigued, moody, headaches, bm issues or muscle weakness or aches, you probably need more salt.
Ketosis has no set carb limit. It is generally accepted that most people will be in ketosis most of the time at 50g of carbs but some go higher if they time carbs around exercise, and some prefer lower. It sounds like you hit a good level of carbs already. Enjoy!3 -
You've been doing this for a very short amount of time. Don't count your chickens before they hatch

I have been doing it for a while. I am full of energy and all of my gastric issues have disappeared I struggle to eat 3 meals and I’m normally a glutton. It totally works for me. I feel amazing. I may love carbs but I’m thinking I’m not designed to have many.2

That's a pretty common thought among low carbers. We may love carbs but they don't love us.
YMMV3
