There is no typing of profanity or using websites for leisure while you're at work missy! Hahahaha j/k!
  • I read the reviews on it and it sounds great if you are a vegetarian. But alas I am not. I love chicken and def coould not live without animal proteins.

I think it is just alot of hype about it because they are so in your face with it, but realistically it just tells you the basics of dieting like any other book.

There's another thread on here somewhere about that and there were varied opinions. You could search it.

    muahhahhhaaaahaaaa! Love ya Tabs!
  • Yes, I have.

I have been vegetarian for several years, and decided to experiment with taking animal products out of my diet completely (going vegan). It seemed like a logical step to better health. When I noticed an unmistakable improvement in my energy, digestion, and overall sense of well-being, I decided to do some research to make sure I was making an informed, healthy decision. This book was among the first pieces of well-researched literature that I picked up on the topic. One of the co-writers has a Masters degree in Holistic Nutrition, and the book's bibliography is extensive.

Skinny *****, whose name was primarily chosen for shock value but also to allude to the attitude of the book, isn't just about quitting animal products- it touches on all subjects edible- you'll learn a lot you may not have known about sugars, grains, dairy, meat- and even much of the politics surrounding them all. The authors also encourage self-education, seeking out information on your own, and using your own head to make healthy decisions.

The book isn't the end-all of diet books, but I learned a lot from it. If you'd like information or other resources on the vegan diet, just let me know.

I went from 148 to 134 surprisingly quickly after becoming vegan. Now I'm working on 135 to 125!
