You are going to do bicep curls as follows (Bicep Curls may be done with cans of soup or bottles of water if you don’t have any weights):
7 lower (with arms extended down by your sides so that weights are at your thighs, lift up to hips then down back up to hips then down until you have hit 7 reps)
7 upper (with arms bent 90 degrees @ hip level, lift up to your shoulders then back down to hip level then up to shoulders then back to hip level until you hit 7 reps)
7 complete ( with arms extended down , lift all the way to shoulders, then lower all the way back down bring all the way back up to shoulders then all the way back down until you hit 7 reps)

Hi team. I'm really sorry but I wasn't able to do today's challenge. That's 5 points less for us. I'm really sorry for messing up.
You can kick me out of the team if you want. I guess I really deserve it. I'm sorry again.0 -
You are not the first to mess up and you certainly won't be the last!
No one who has been as dedicated as you have been to this team would EVER get kicked off for such a measly reason!
If you really feel bad about it, make it up on Sunday! Not a BIG deal, dear!
I am 40 years old (like 24-26 years older than you!) and have been around the block a few times... I have done little mess ups and gargantuan mess ups... We all do... What you do after you mess up is what matters... Do you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and drive on? Or do you give up?
There IS a reason the team name is Persistent Determination... We keep at it, even when we mess up!!!
With FRIENDSHIP and WARMTH from Missouri!

Really, thank you for understanding
and I'm really sorry for messing up frequently. but I do hope I'll make it up tomorrow and on Saturday.
Thank you!!0 -
I sent Sonia an email, but want to post my question here as well:
I normally do not count my every day walking as part of my exercise, but today I decided to wear my pedometer to see exactly how much walking I do during my normal work day and so far I have walked 1.23 miles in about 3 1/2 hours - do you think that my overall total can count toward our 100 Mile Challenge since it is not something I normally include in my exercise?
I am also doing the treadmill after work so I will add more miles that way too.
I will be doing the 100 stair climbs shortly (thankfully there are stair cases at my work with 30 steps so all i have to do is jog up & down 4 times and I will actually get 120 steps in )
*****NOTE: I am trying to walk a little more than usual as well to increase the total*****0 -

It's a good idea but I think that's part of what you checked for you normal activity level. They used examples such as a mailman or a waitress. It's good you have a job that you can walk around that much.0 -

I actually have a desk job, but I'm not in a production area so there is a little more time for walking the halls. When I did my set-up I selected sedentary because I sit for the majority of my day.
I feel that I can honestly contribute the 1.8 miles I walked toward our 100 Mile Challenge because as previously stated I do NOT count my daily walking in with my regular exercise. I figured with this challenge I would use my pedometer to help contribute.

RESPONSE REQUESTED: with the Globe Jumps, do we count each jump or do we have to do a complete 'square' before we count?0 -
The globe jumps are supposed to be counted as 1/2/3/4 - 1, 1/2/3/4 - 2, etc etc
It sucks!!! I hate them!

I just want to thank you all for being here. The care, concern and support you have given me brings tears to my eyes and has put an indescribable joy in my heart. Joining this challenge has been the best thing I have done in the past year to help with the weight loss journey. Although I have not lost weight, I have gained more than I could ever imagine. I know the weight will come off as I persevere. In the mean time I am gaining strength, stamina and a desire to challenge myself to go beyond what I thought possible. Each one of you has touched my life in a way that can only be described as totally awesome! I believe God brought you into my life just when I needed people the most. How else can you explain the coming together of people from all over the globe, with a common cause, helping and supporting each other? We are all here to help each other on this life journey to become better people, to be the best we can be; not only physically but emotonally and spiritually too. You are all in my prayers every day, usually as I walk. I pray for your strength and success and I thank God for each of you. Right now you are all my very best friends and I am excited and honored to be able to get to know you better every day. I love walking and sharing this time of my life with you all.
I hope today finds you peaceful, happy and motivated and without cravings or stress.

Team, Sonia

I see, well in that case I think you should be able to count it towards the 100.0 -
Ladies,
I hate to report that I was not able to complete the exercises for Friday - I did the stair climbs and 25 Jacks before I started feeling bad and had to stop.
My husband was off yesterday (he normally works 6 days/week) and had me out of the house shopping along with participating in a kickball game with my sister - the daycare she uses had a Teachers vs Parents game. After we finished with that it was time to go out for my brother-in-laws birthday...had a great day/night, but it made it impossible for me to do yesterday's exercises.
I start my classes again tomorrow so I'm not sure if I will be able to continue with the challenge, but I should know within the first few days how much extra tme I will have to devote to the extra exercises.0 -

I sent you a message but also wanted to let you know here that my recipe is on page 1 of this thread. I posted it Monday morning. It does include nutritional info.0 -
I posted my "go-to" oatmeal recipe last Sunday but it's on the thread for week 1. So, here it is again:
1/2 cup quick cooking (not instant) oatmeal
2 dates (or prunes), chopped
5 almonds, chopped
1 cup boiled water
1/4 - 1/2 cup blueberries, frozen
1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (optional)
2 Tbs ground flax seed (optional)
Pour boiling water over oatmeal in a large cereal bowl and place a plate over top to steep. Chop dried fruit and nuts. Top with frozen blueberries, almond milk and flax seed. Ready in 5-6 minutes.
Nutritional information (1 serving): 288 calories, 54g carbs, 7g fat, 7g protein, 47g sodium and 9g fibre0 -
Sonia: I have been weighing in on Monday mornings (August 1, 8, 15...etc).If Monday is too late for you to get all the stats completed, I don't mind shifting to reporting my weigh-in on Sunday morning instead. I don't like weighing myself in the evening as I'm always up in pounds. Just let us know.0
