Half Marathon Training

I'm thinking about running a half marathon in November, so I'm looking for a training program. Does anyone know of any good ones or ones they've enjoyed? I'm looking for something about 9-11 weeks long, and about 4 run days a week.
Any other training advice is greatly appreciated

Ive ran 3 halfs and my 4th is on the 27th, ive never used a program persay but i just found a running buddy and started running. Start slow and let your body get used to running. I now run a comfortable 5 to 8 miles a day and its taken me about 3 months to get here from a rough 2 miles a day. Just pace yourself and get out and run. I plan on training for a full marathon next year. Best of luck to you....you can do it!0

He beat me to the punch, I always send newbies to Higdon.
There are lots of other (free) programs out there, but I find Higdon is the best place to start.0 -
I'm currently using Hal Higdon's training plan too. I'm doing my first half in October and another one in January.0

I'm using the Jeff Galloway plan for my half, but his has me training 3x/week for 18 weeks (19 including the race week).
Try RunnersWorld. You can create plans based on information you input, like previous race times. The tool is called SmartCoach.0 -
Hey! I've run 4 and am currently training for my 5th and 6th. i would check out rick galloway's training method. it's really good--his method is run/walking. you should also check w/ a local running store. my first race, i ran with a training group--it was really helpful. good luck!0

while I like the idea of just running, I think the programs do a good job of helping new runners understand how to ramp up their long runs0 -
I just ran my very first half marathon a couple of weeks ago, and I followed the Nike+ training program online—the Nike Women's Half Marathon one to be specific. I like it especially because it includes various strengthening routines as well that helps to prevent running injury. Besides pictures, you can see videos of these routines. Being a newbie, it's nice to have it all simply laid out! And you DON"T have to have a Nike+ product to join the site online and use their training program—you still can have the program and calendar for your training, although you will not be able to get your runs synced up and recorded online. But it doesn't screw up the training—you just don't get the cool graphics and stats of your runs. Not only did I finish my half marathon, but managed to do it 10 seconds under 2 hours without injury! I guess that's why I'm a big fan!0

August 2011 Runners Magazine has a great article on training for a 1/2. Also, they reference runnersworldchallenge.com for training help.0
