Fitbit Alta HR - does it track flights of stairs?

My Fitbit Ultra died so I had to replace and wanted one I could wear on my wrist. Now I don't appear to have any flights of stairs - do you know if this model tracks that and how I could turn it on? I tried fitbit.com but the questions there weren't very helpful...

I watched a youtube review yesturday and it appears this feature was removed but replaced with several other features. I cant remember the full comparison now but it tracks sleep including rem and can send sort of push motivation notifications as well as display your texts and calls. I think there were a few other differences too.0

It doesn’t. I believe the charge hr does but I prefer the sleekness of the Alta. As a hiker, I found the fair flight count to be way off.0
