The Worst Gift

What is the worst gift you’ve ever received from your significant other? Current relationship, past relationship, doesn’t matter.

I had spent my twenties pregnant, nursing and depressed fat. At 29 I decided to lose the weight as a gift to myself for my big thirtieth birthday. Which I did. Was in great shape, looked and truly felt amazing. When my husband (now ex) asked me what I wanted for my birthday, feeling extra sassy, I told him that I wanted him to surprise me with something he wanted to see me in from Victoria’s Secret. On the day of my birthday, I excited ripped into the signature pink and black box to be absolutely surprised by a black silk, long sleeve, long pant pajama set. The only way I could have covered more of my skin would have been to wear a turtleneck. I was devastatingly insulted. A gift I will never forget, for damn sure.

Tell me your worst!

We had just purchased a Wii right before we had our second child. For Mothers Day (4 months after giving birth), I opened my gift to find a workout "game" for the Wii. Not so subtle, dear hubby.

Now that my kids are old enough to pick out my Mothers Day gifts, I get the best ones!

I wouldn't say they were the worst, but they were kind of lame/funny lol. When I first started dating my husband, it was our first valentines day and we'd been together 6 months by then. He got me the stereotypical stuffed animal and heart shaped box of nasty grocery store chocolate lol and then this random pair of pajama pants that were TOTALLY not my size, they were waaaay to small and really random? lol I acted thankful but he now knows to get me a heart shaped pizza and salt water taffy instead ;D haha

And then another time when we were first dating he got me roses for the first time, and he thought since they were plants that they needed sun light! so he left them in his window until he saw me later than afternoon and gave me wilted, mostly dead roses hahaha, he has since learned that roses need to be kept cool lol

inexpensive tv trays. Because he remembered that I said once, that we should get a set so we could eat more comfortably in the living room in front of the TV. Never forgot that one.

I haven't ever received a bad gift. This is because I'm fairly militant about what I want and they have a choice of three ideas.

A shower head. It wasn't even a "good" one.

Did it not have a removable nozzle with a pulsing setting?

    Nope!

I can't think of anything bad dh ever gave me as a gift. He is pretty thoughtful and good about choosing things I would like.
He has bought some jewelry a few times for me that is nice but I don't really wear jewelry. I suppose that is the worst.

I got a kettle popcorn machine once, and I mean a large commercial size. Its still in my kitchen, but for the life of me to this day I have no idea what sparked the idea for my husband to buy that for me.

My ex bought me an Italian fast car for my birthday - 26th. He was a member of those Exotic car clubs who meet and drive to ideal locales every weekend. It was red (not a colour I would have chosen) ... Really, it was the "she" car to match his prized one. Interior plus all upgrades.

Just felt suffocating. Would have much preferred a Ford FX 150 Black Ops ... Granted it came out years later ... I like all terrain trucks.

ETA:. Can't kill the country girl.

Just another reason why I hate gift giving/receiving occasions...
