Jani Lane from Warrant was found dead today at 47 years old. This is one sad 80's girl. :(

Got a picture of your house
And you're standing by the door
It's black and white and faded
    And it's looking pretty worn

See the factory that I worked
    Silhouetted in the back
    The memories are gray
but man they're really coming back

I don't need to be the king of the world
As long as I'm the hero of this little girl

    Heaven isn't too far away
    Closer to it every day
No matter what your friends might say...

How I love the way you move
And the sparkle in your eyes
There's a color deep inside them
    Like a blue surburban sky

When I come home late at night
    And you're in bed asleep
I wrap my arms around you
So I can feel you breathe

    I don't need to be a superman
As long as you will always be my biggest fan

    Heaven isn't too far away
    Closer to it every day
No matter what your friends might say
    We'll find a way
    whoa yeah, babe

Now the lights are going out
    Along the boulevard
    The memories come rushing back
and it makes it pretty hard

I've got nowhere left to go
    And no one really cares
I don't know what to do
But I'm never giving up on you

    Heaven isn't too far away
Closer to it every day (ah-ah)
No matter what your friends say
    I know we're gonna find a way

I'm a sad 80's girl too......such a part of my junior/high school years! Think I'll dust off the old tapes and have a listen! RIP Janie Lane :(

That song reminds me of my college days. That is so sad. And that song is gonna linger in my head for a while.

I was just trying to figure out why the radio was playing back-to-back Warrant... the last time I heard back-to-back music was when Freddie Mercury died! And now I just hear that Jani Lane is too! WOW! This is a sad day for any of us 80's hair-band headbangers

    RIP Jani!!

(Wonder if it had anything to do with what he saw down at Uncle Tom's cabin...)

Do you actually still have a functioning tape deck? One that doesn't eat the tapes? If so, I've got about 300 tapes from my middle/high school days I'd love to be able to listen to again, including Warrant!

Sure do!! A couple of "Ghetto Blasters" and non of them eat tapes......yet!! LOL!! And about 300 tapes as well!!! Don't listen to them much any more of course....find it kind of annoying that you can't just skip songs and actually have to flip the tape over!! Ha ha ha!!! I just can't give up my tape collection b/c some of my best music is in that collection! One of these days I'll buy one of those things that you can hook up to the computer and convert tapes to MP3's but until then........
