    Hi y'all it's Raquel. Happy Monday. I'm not actually excited for work but trying to keep it positive. Finished my first round.

    4/28 144.4 ~ (Steps 16,689) - Yesterday was an extremely day with my exercises and my food...We went out to eat for lunch and dinner but my healthy choices made the difference in the scale...

    4/29 142.7 ~ (Steps 14,275) Longgggg day but I didn’t emotionally eat which was a plus in my book, :)

    4/30 142.4 ~ (Steps 10,325) I spent the day with my grandkids, son and daughter! I was able to keep under my calorie goal plus hit the gym before they close.

    5/01 143.3 ~ (Steps 21,968) I did keep under my calorie goal just wasn’t the healthy meals, :(

    5/02 144.3 ~ (Steps 19,613) again with the scale going the wrong way :(

    5/03 145.1 ~ (Steps 19,980) I don’t understand I did everything right :(

    5/04 143.4 ~ (Steps 14,381) At last the scale is stable now.......

    4/28 - 127.8 - yesterday under calories and at least got 8K steps :/
    4/29 - 127.2 - yesterday under calories and 11K steps, no actual workout though
    4/30 - 127.8 - yesterday significantly over calories and very few steps. Just a bit of an emo day. I really do not do well when my regular workout partner (hubs) isn't well ... he has asthma so he gets a bye, me, just emo and unfocused.
    5/1 - 129.2 - and DESERVED. If it had sugar in it and was not nailed down, I ate it yesterday. Horrifying. I am still eating like I was on vacation and getting 15-25K steps a day, and with an acquired taste for sugary "energy" foods like was able to get away with on the trip, while I sit at my desk and am frustrated with people and try to catch up on projects. Post vacation Whoops got me big time!!
    So here is the plan:
    log every bite today CHECK
    Get a workout today CHECK well it was in my living room, but yes
    Walk on breaks, get 5K steps by 5PM ALMOST, got 4800
    and 40 flights ALMOST, got 31
    Start my journal pages for May which will help me with daily goals AT LEAST DID MAY 1
    5/2 - 128.0 - yesterday well under calories, 10K steps, and no pre-bedtime sugar; see my progress report above :smiley:
    5/3 - 128.4 - yesterday under calories, 11K steps including a knockout trail run/hike with some elevation gain (I walk when my hr hits the red zone)
    5/4 - 127.8 - yesterday huge smashing headache, came home and slept, ate too many foods, and only walked 3K steps
    5/5 - 128.6 - yesterday 10K steps including a really warm and windy run of 3.5 miles. Over calories though and did not log. Back at it today.
    5/6 - 129.6 - yesterday under steps, over calories. Dang having a hard time getting back into my routines.

    5/7 - 129.8 - yesterday under steps and over calories. Less sugar but still too much snacking. Sugar is not an enemy to me, just can get hard to stop once I start when in the wrong space. Sore throat all day and very low energy. Slept 10-11 hours two days in a row, hope that helps!

    4/28 - 160.9 That 5 is just around the corner. Hoping to dodge the rain and get out for a nice long walk. 16,286 steps and 1334 calories. Happy Saturday!
    4/29 - 161.1 Meh. 18,717 steps and 1343 calories. Moved lots considering all the rain. Today, beat those steps and stay somewhat dry!
    4/30 - 160.6 -20,048 steps and 1569 calories. Had a nice long walk and did some lunch prep.
    5/01 - 160.6 -15,789 steps and 1303 calories. Took some to get out for my evening walk but I got it done. Happy May everyone!!
    5/02 - 160.5 -17,656 steps and 1545 calories. Tried some Halo Top not too bad a little sweet it was Pancake and Waffle? Nice and cool after a walk.
    5/03 - 160.8 -That feeling of up, but then you realize it just .3 and could be anything ... Keep moving forward and lets see what tomorrow brings! 15,769 steps and 1615 calories.
    5/04 - 160.3 -17,214 steps and 1463 calories. Looking forward to a weekend of activity and keeping busy.

    5/07 - 164.0 ... Been an eventful weekend. SO is home and has had surgery to his Achilles heel. He has an extremely high pain tolerence, so that made it a little harder to get diagnosed. He's on zero pain meds and thinks he can still do whatever as pain doesn't hold him back. He flew home after the doctor, where he got hurt, pretty much said he just sprained it and had surgery here at home. .... Just as my numbers started to look good again I stress ate and sat too much in hospital waiting rooms. Now to figure out a plan to keep my calories low and find how to get my walks in as he can't go with me. Week 40 should be interesting. I WANT MY 5's BACK!!

    4/28 - 321.4 (-3.0) It's one heck of a start. I'm not even sure why the loss happened. I ate a good bit yesterday and the day before. I guess my metabolism is kicking in ways I don't know or it could be the getting up and moving once an hour for just a few minutes an hour. I'm not complaining, just curious so I can repeat it going forward.
    4/29 - 320.2 (-1.2) Woohoo! It's still going down. It seems the moving around is still the key and reasonable eating. I'm not going crazy with food or motion. This is helping to keep Ed quiet as well. Quite interesting.
    4/30 - 317.2 (-3.0) That's a pretty good drop. Ed's voice is pretty quiet lately and I have been eating better. I am sleeping alright. I feel pretty good these days. And drinking plenty of water, definitely plenty of water.
    5/1- 316.2 (-1.0) Not so much exercise as it was just diet. I'm hoping for more exercise today, but nervous about activity while my aide is here today. I feel uncomfortable doing my walking in front of others, like I have to explain myself. I know it sounds silly, but there it is.
    5/2 - 316.6 (+0.4) Not sure about the increase, but not worried about it as well. I weighed in at an earlier time which might explain it. No big deal.
    5/3 - 317.6 (+1.0) No explanation for the increase other than it wasn't the same time of day, which I know does impact what the scale says. I'm not going to worry about it. I did well with my eating yesterday. I just need to stick with it, and I nailed my walking as well. I almost hit the active mark for my Fitbit for every hour except one, and that was just by a few steps. We'll see how it goes today.
    5/4 - 314.6 (-3.0) I'm pleasantly surprised by the drop, likely drop of water as TOM draws closer to a close. I'm kept at my diet and hit my daily step goal. I don't know if I will hit my steps today given the time of day that I am coming fully around. I have some things that I need to do today, but my CSS wants to meet at 3:15 throwing a monkey wrench into the timing of things. Oh, well, there's tomorrow to work things out.
    5/5 - 315.6 (+1.0) Probably from all the sodium from my wasabi peas binge yesterday. It's okay, the trend is still generally down for the month.
    5/6 - 315.8 (+0.2) It's likely waste weight due to bowel issues. My eating was good, my exercise not so much but I was well under my caloric goal yesterday. I may need to take a laxative today. I have an errand I need to run and laundry to do today. I should also work on cleaning some as well. I saw my grandmother yesterday, and we walked around outside enjoying the warm weather, then sat for awhile. I miss having her just one floor below me. Her birthday is coming up this Thursday and then Mother's Day in one week. Lots of planning to do and keeping everything else, including not losing sight of my fitness goals this week!
    5/7 - 313.4 (-2.4) Finally a solid drop after a few days of bouncing around. I don't know if it'll stick, but I hope that it will. I'm dealing with some cravings today, but so far I'm drawing up the order but cancelling it at the last minute. I am a bit hungry, but need to hold on to what I can.

    Nothing works unless you have a sustained calorie deficit over time. Anything will work if you have a sustained calorie deficit over time.

    Motivation is overrated. What you need is education, willingness to eat less, a good plan, and discipline to stick to it.

    Wow. There's a significant chunk of us who really struggled this last round. I know my choices, I also know I struggled with craving salt and some hunger. Is it fatigue from trying to lose weight for several months? Is it spring and not planning ahead?

    Let's make this next 10 days a recommitment to health :smile:

    I will choose my goal over my short term struggle.

    Boundaries for R39:
    - No manmade sugar;
    - No yeast aka bread and alcohol;
    - No oil aka nuts, chips, cheese, meat;
    - 30 minutes of exercise;
    - 10k steps.


    4/28: 154.5. It was a good day. Food was spot on and logged. :)
    4/29: 150.5. Walk in the kitchen. Mowed yard. Lots of errands. Food choices were good. Just had a lot of quantity. Still a good day. :)
    4/30: 150.5. No morning workout. Cramping badly today. Bike on trainer. Did not make 10k steps on the pedometer. But that's because it was sitting on a table for most of the day. Good eating day. :)
    5/01: 150. Morning workout. Walk after dinner. Steps 11k+. Good eating day. :)
    5/02: 150.5. Morning workout with weights. Tired this morning. And honestly a bit bummed that I’m not seeing the losses that I did last round. *Sigh*. Forgot my fitbit again today. But got in steps at lunch and with the morning workout, I'm sure I was >10K. Eating may have been a little bit more than my recent normal but it was within my boundaries set. All logged. Can you eat too many grapes and cauliflower? :)

    5/03: 150.5. Holding strong onto the 150s. No morning workout. Needed the extra sleep. Eliptical at the gym. Food on track and logged. :)

    5/04: 150.5. Morning workout. Don’t know how I did with steps. Dinner out with Hubs. Full of oil. Alcohol. Bread. And chocolate. (Birthday T-2)
    5/05: 151. Morning workout. Let’s not talk about the rest. (Birthday T-1)
    5/06: 151.5. Phew. Only up a pound after the horrible day on Saturday. Morning workout. Mowing. Gardening. 12k+ steps. Food within limits. But not tracked. (Actual Birthday

    4/29 - 192.2: Big dinner of country style ribs, baked potato, corn, and a couple of Seagrams spiked. My weekly indulgence. The rest of the week will be better!

    4/30 - 194.2: Not heading in the direction I want, but today is a new day. Ham and more Seagrams are not helping the situation!

    5/1 - 192.6: That's better. Tuna sandwich for lunch; chicken salad for dinner. 45 minute walk with the daughter.

    5/2 - 191.8: I’ll take it! Same lunch as yesterday. Dinner was a couple of slices of ham and a baked potato. No exercise.

    5/3 - 190.2: Woohoo!!! Back where I started the round! LOL. My doctor called yesterday afternoon and is decreasing my thyroid meds again (just lowered it 5 weeks ago). Not sure why it's dropping all of a sudden.

    5/4 - 190.0: Considering I succumbed to my sweet tooth yesterday, I'm surprised! Hopefully this means I may just say farewell to the 190's tomorrow morning when I do my weekly weigh-in. Working on a fast today...on hour 14 right now.

    5/5 - 189: I did it!! Finally hit the 180’s!! Heading to NHRA TODAY, so food choices won’t be optimal. Going to do the best I can though!

    5/6 - 191.2: Did great with the food at NHRA (thanks to an undercooked burger), but we stopped and had Chinese on the way home. Damn sodium!!

    5/7 - 192.6: Lazy Sunday and too much to drink! Not counting it as a loss, since my weigh-in days are Saturday.

    On to the next round!
