Hello guys
I need some help to make sure what i am counting is the right amount
How many calories in cooked spaghetti
I found different calorie cou ting for it
So i found that one cup of cooked spaghetti is 221 calorie and that cup is 148 grams
So, because my scale is by ounces i found that 148 grams is 4.9 ounces.

So is that true or wrong, and if wrong can someone tell me what is the real calorie
Thanks!

Can you weigh it dry before cooking? Weighing the cooked spaghetti is less accurate because you can't be sure how much water has been absorbed.

If you can't weigh before cooking, then about 2 oz (54 g) to a serving seems about right. It just won't be as accurate.

I feel something is wrong, maybe next time i will weigh it dry.

Go by the info on the package you are using, though typically pasta runs about 200 cal for 2 oz/54 g dry weight. I've found most pasta is about 3 X the dry weight after cooking, but that will vary by type & cooking time (I let mine go a little longer). To be precise, weigh your pasta dry or if it's multiple servings, re-weigh the cooked pasta & divide by the # of servings.

The amounts of calories for 100 grams should be on the packet. Every brand is different, so use the amount that is written on the package. Better to weight before cooking (this way you can also choose how much you will eat. I've always weighted pasta before cooking, it is my way of knowing how much I should cook). If you're cooking for many people then you may want to weight it cooked. It is less accurate, but what I know is that 100 gr (3,5 oz if goole is right) of dry spaghetti = 244gr (8,6) cooked spaghetti. So the info on your packet that refer to 100 grams correspond to 3,5 oz of dry spaghetti and 8,6 oz of cooked spaghetti. You can then just calculate from that. Remember that every brand is different! I eat De Cecco and they have 346 cals for 100 gr, I eat 70 gr so they are 242 cals.
