Hi everyone, I have extra weight that is getting me down, it's sitting mainly around my waist and my sleek jawline has been replaced by an extra chin
I'm only 5ft tall so on the scale its not a huge amount of weight I need to lose but losing about 15-20lbs would make me a new woman inside and out !!!
Here's the snag...My husband is working overseas and is due home in 3 weeks, Id love to surprise him with a sleeker more confident me, I know its impossible to lose it all by then but I'm willing to try to lose as much as possible.
I will need frieds on here to keep me going

Have you tried Zumba? That may help the waist line.0

Look up Russian twists and Crazy Ivans. If you have a wii, try out gold's gym cardio - it's boxing, a lot of twisting at the waist, and i dropped two inches off my waist in the first two weeks.0

It's bad to lose 20lbs in 3 weeks but you can sure get a jump on it. I say, make a workout plan and stick to it. And plan your meals a day in advance so that you won't be tempted to grab something on the go. If you stick with it, you can definitely surprise him! Add me as a friend if you need a little support.0

Eat Fish and Veggies + work your rear end off during workouts and you are golden! Good luck!0

You can certainly make a noticeable difference in 3 weeks. I've so far lost 18lbs in 6 weeks, of which I lost 10.5 in the first 3 weeks. I tried zumba for the first time last night and I agree with the previous suggestion, I think it is particularly good for the waistline! Good luck and feel free to add me if you want.0

Fish, veggies, fruit & chicken should basically take over your diet for the next 3 weeks. Don't stick on this diet too long though, because you need other things to balance your body out, too.
I suggest Zumba & spinning classes if you can find them. Spinning is 500+ calories burned for one hour for me, and the weeks where I go to my spinning class twice a week are the weeks I actually lose more than a half of a pound of weight. I also suggest (if you have Netflix instawatch) the Bikini Bust workout that's available on there. It really kicks my butt on the weekends I don't feel like leaving the house.
Good luck to you!0 -

Look at it from this perspective: The reason you want to lose weight is so you look good for your husband. Regardless if you were lighter or not, if he loved you then he'll be happy to see you despite how you look.
Figure to safely and reasonably lose 1% of your body weight a week. I'm more than sure he'll understand and he can be there while you do it.0 -
I know these aren't always the best ideas but have you tried one of those short-term fad diets? Maybe the GM 7-day diet? I don't have much to lose myself but I lost 3lbs in one week doing the GM diet (granted it says you should lose 10-17 but I'd probably be in a hospital if i lost that much in one week).
Also, what everyone above says. Cardio, maybe try kick boxing to help at the waistline. Very clean diet and make sure you get plenty of water!0 -
try Jillian Michaels 30 day shred or crunch pilates or turbo jam - do it every day & cut out dairy and soy (I read that soy thickens your waist, don't know why that would be)
drink tons of water
sleep at least 7 hrs uninterrupted
walk 45 - 60 mins for calorie burn & core strength
if you have access to stairs I highly recommend jogging them for as long as you can (10 - 20 mins) every other day - if you can't jog, walk them for 20 - 30 mins - this might not do much for your waist but it's great cardio lower body (butt) workout. Keep your body above your hips, don't lean forward & don't hold the rail
good luck0 -
Thanks everyone...another snag I have is that the kids are home off school still on summer break for the next three weeks so going to classes is not possible, but its not a problem cause i do have an elliptical (cross trainer) and kids trampoline and wii fit so surly I should burn something it I get off my bum !!0
