Indian Girl.

Hello, I'm new to the programme, I am Indian in Origin, that in part is my frustration.
I am overweight. I live in California, which is fast paced living, I work 4days a week, have a full family life.
with alot of socialisation.
My main cuisine is Indian, I try to cook healthy, but that sometimes may not be good enough.
I am struggling to calculate calories in Indian food, this is the first website that I have been able to find a
good collection of Indian foods and their nutritional/dietary information.
I have struggled with my weight for many years, I am active, and exercise when I am not too tired!!!
I'd love some input on Indian diet and help in motivation to keep active.
In the calculations I have done so far I am mostly under the caloric requirements for my size and age.
Look forward to meeting new friends.
Indian Girl.

Hey there, I'm also an Indian female who has started her weight-loss journey. You're right it is difficult to calculate nutritonal info for indian food! I have bought this great cookbook on Indian Vegan cooking, I think the author's name is Madhu Gadhia. It is great because it lists all the caloric info for each recipe - fat, calories, protein, etc etc. Try it out!

For the socialisation - I am all too familiar how our culture revolves around food! The key is learning the willpower to say no! :)

    Good luck!
