What's for breakfast?

Overnight oats with blue berries0

This morning I had a scrambled egg and sausage in a low carb/calorie wrap with cheese. Coffee with whipping cream and coconut oil.
I buy 2 packets of turkey sausage and 1 packet of pork sausage and smoosh it all together, and then cook it before portioning it out into individual servings. It lights it up considerably while still having the yummy pork sausage flavor that I prefer. My husband didn’t even notice it was different!1 -
Doing the shake thing: Kale, Oats, Banana, Strawberry, Chia, PBFit, Avocado, Greek Yogurt Almond Milk.

I usually have either avocado toast on homemade bread with cherry tomatoes and cheese crumbles or chia pudding. For the toast I use the Wholly Guacamole chunky avocado cups instead of fresh avocado since I never get around to eating the second half before it goes brown.0

Breakfast = coffee, if I'm lucky ... these days, sometimes just water.0

I alternate between scambled eggs and whey shake to homemade protein smoothie thing0

Skinnytaste bell pepper & potato frittata
....As soon as I get out of my nice warm bed to make it1 -
Today I just ate a banana and a lara bar because I was going to an exercise class and it was either don't eat or eat something light that will digest in 40 minutes. My usual breakfast of eggs, bacon and oatmeal wouldn't. On light days I will drink a smoothie made from 1/2 cup fresh almond milk, 1 tbsp peanut butter, 1/2 tsp cocoa and 1 banana. It will keep me going for about 4 hours. The banana and lara bar worked well though--about 300 calories and I had no stomach issues and had more than enough energy.
Sometimes I'll just eat oatmeal with 1 fried egg. Or eggs and bacon with a belgian waffle. If I crave bagels I'll get a plain bagel with butter. But bagels are not a good choice for me, or any other type of bread--they don't fill me up so I usually end up off my calorie goal for the day.1 -
This morning was griesmeel (a Dutch type of breakfast/desert a bit like semolina) made with 1% milk and a teaspoon of sugar poured over 50g of frozen redcurrants. I've had a couple of days this week where i had two slices of toast with butter and the rest of the week has been protein smoothies: 150ml 1% milk, 30g of unflavoured whey protein powder, 70-100g of banana and 3g of cocoa powder. Quick to make and drink which is great for weekdays, it's easy to switch up the additions to the protein base mango and strawberries with yogurt, blueberries with yogurt whatever flavour fruit/ veg you like.
Other options are porridge with fruit for sweetness I don't add sugar or muesli with low fat greek style yogurt which I tend to eat at work if I know I'm having a desk day/morning.0 -
I usually have scrambled eggs, but tried banana pancake...just mash a banana with an egg, and cook as pancakes in a little coconut oil. Really good with a handful of blueberries.0

Depends on how much time I have! I am embarrassed/proud to say I have five different coffee-making mechanisms at my house and several kinds of beans. This morning I made moka espresso (espresso beans) and poured it over ice for a quick iced Americano. Some mornings I make regular drip coffee (light roast). In summer I make a lot of cold brew -- I actually have a special cold-brew carafe. Sometimes I make French press coffee (medium Italian roast, either hot or I use the press to make quicker cold brew for iced). And on lazy weekends I tinker with my actual espresso machine, which I haven't quite gotten the hang of yet. I tend to drink all of these either black or with just a little touch of flavored creamer. My favorite so far is the moka espresso, especially over ice, but really I just love any coffee I can get.

I thought my house had a lot -- we have a moka, an espresso machine, and a french press. I also do cold brew, but I don't have a special carafe. Oh, we also have a little special saucepan-type thing for Turkish coffee.
We're really into coffee.2 -
I knew you were my kind of people, @janejellyroll. I just knew it.1

I usually have a Dannon light and fit greek yogurt with granola or flaxseed added. If I'm still feeling hungry some fruit. If it is a REALLY hungry morning 1 egg, 1 egg white, green onion and tomato scrambled then put it on 1/2 an english muffin or a bagel thin. Coffee and water0

I drink a protein shake every morning or a serving of oatmeal if I am out of protein shakes.0

I had a couple of hard boiled eggs, will probably do the same tomorrow. Convenience is the name of the game for the foreseeable future. I did get some lovely ideas from this thread for future, less harried breakfasts, so thanks for that!0

I rotate between:
Poached eggs over broiled or sautéed veggies
Greek yogurt over cinnamon baked apple
Zucchini pancakes
All depends on availability of ingredients that morning, time availability, and goals for the day.0 -
Lately I have been cooking my way through Julia Child's quiche chapter, about one per week. They are fairly light and I like eating them with some veggies. And they are not that much work when you buy pre-made pie crusts (shhhh don't tell her).
This morning I am (not) ashamed to report that I ate chocolate almond ice cream direct from the ice cream maker, with a sliced banana. I made the custard last night and had the ice cream maker finish the batch while I got dressed for the gym.2 -

I use Julia’s base recipe for all of my quiches - just made one yesterday for Mother’s Day (with shallots, ham, and asparagus). They are perfect! I do use her recipe for pie crust as well (because I like making pie crust - I do roll them out into the pie plate and freeze them ahead of time).
