getting enough sleep and weight loss?

I do not get enough sleep, every morning I wake up feeling tiried. I can't imagaine what haviging kids would be like! By the time I do everything I need to do after work, it is midnight and then I can never seem to fall asleep. I usually get about 6 hours of sleep which is not terrible but I do not wake up feeling rested. On the weekends I have been known to sleep for 12 or 14 hours because I am so tiried. On top of this I am hardly losing. I have heard stress and lack of sleep can effect weight loss but I was wondering has anyone gotten more sleep and ended up lossing more?

Unfortunately I don't think my pattern for going to bed late will stop anytime soon. Right now I am working full time and take a summer class. I also work out for at least an hour and I have a minor TV addiction that takes up 2 hours each night. I know I should drop the TV time, but it is how I relax. In less then a month I will be going back to school full time and working part time. I just hate to see all of my efforst going to waste.

I was on a plateau about a week ago. Scale barely moved. I'm assuming it was because I stayed up really late for 5 days... usually until 2 am. I normally go to sleep at 10 pm. I just recently started crashing early, and I've lost 2 pounds (just haven't logged it). I think it really depends on the individual, but it's been the same story for a few people I know.

I don't know for sure, but I assume lack of sleep would be bad for your metabolism.

I have 3 children and am a graduate student. I don't get enough sleep either. Last night it took an hour to fall asleep because I couldn't stop thinking about school stuff, I was awoken twice by a dog, twice by my 3 year old, and once by my 1 year old, and got up at 6am to work out. Weight loss has been slow but it's happened. Taken me almost 14 months now.
