What works, is a calorie deficit, that you can and do, sustain over time.0

It doesn’t HAVE to be hard if you just break it down logically. It’s all mathematics.
1. Calculate your BMR using a free online calculator. Mine is 2,200 calories per day. I am 63, weigh 240#, and workout 3x per week. My goal is 200# by Sept. 1. I started in Feb when I weighed 272#.
2. A pound of fat=3,500 calories, so in order to lose 2# per week, a person has to create a deficit of 7,000 calories a week or 1,000 per day.
3. I burn 400 calories at the gym 3x per week so that’s 1,200 right there.
4. 7,000/week-1,200workout=5,800
5. 5,800 divided by 7 days = approx 850 calories needed to reduce daily.
6. My BMR of 2,200-850=1,350 calories per day.
7. 1,350 calories per day is easy to do using MFP and developing a committed lifestyle. So if you are looking to lose 100# or so, plan on a 1 year commitment.
