Summer is so close...

Who's ready for summer and why?
Or if you're not ready for summer, why?
I'll go first...
I AM ready for summer because:
1) I actually HATE cold weather and am tired of trying to find reason to pretend I like winter.
2) My middle schooler's attitude toward school is declining daily, and she is getting on my nerves.
3) No more packing lunch boxes every night!
4) My job allows me to be off summers!
5) My hair behaves better in the hot/humidity (weird, I know)
6) Summer watermelon destroys the stuff you can buy in the winter.
7) The pool!
8) We all know summer is the best season!

It's hot and humid and I melt, then I whine about it like a *kitten*, plus my hair & humidity = me saying "wow, nice hair you have going on there." Plus AC bills, ugh ffs.

Summer is so awesome. It’s freaking humid here in Kentucky. My kids will be home all day eating every damn thing in the house. It’s the best.

don't they look at everything in the house and say, "There's nothing to eat and I'm starving!"

Yes while they are eating everything

Ugh. They must be related to my kids.

Fair points. My kids do all that stuff too, but they also do that during the school year when I'm also having to pack lunches, help with homework, and watch them drag around getting ready and making us late every morning.

And I'm from Alabama where it's also really humid, but I like it...

    I have a love/hate with summer.

    Love:
    - camping in the mountains (great way to beat the heat)
    - morning bike rides on a crisp new morning
    - pool side cookouts and hanging out with friends
    - mountain hikes (great way to beat the heat)
    - Thunderstorms once we get into the monsoon season in late July/early August (cools things down)

    Hate:
    - 100* + temperatures...anything over 90* and I'm hating life
    - kids are out of school so we have to fork out $$$ for summer camps
    - The heat
    - It's a super busy time of year for me at work
    - It's really hot out
    - A/C bills because it's so friggin' hot out
    - Going on summer family vacations, but having to spend some of that time working remotely because busy...
    - Sometimes my family has to vacation without me 'cuz busy
    - It's so friggin' hot

I love everything about summer, but especially the evenings. I feel like I have at least 2 extra hours of living after work on weeknights.

We went from winter straight to summer.

Already sweating profusely just going to the mail box, I need three showers a day. :grimace: I hate oven cooking. I will need a shower after that too.

Love summer mornings, love being in shorts and flip flops but the hot temps and humidity not so much.

Thinking of getting one of these. I already have the dog (I think that exact one in the pic).

    Love:
I’m so damn tired of making PBJs
Don’t have to wake up at 6am
    Have no schedules

    Hate:
    $700 electric bills
Its so hot it takes your breath away
    Hot car seats
Hotter steering wheel and seat belt buckles
    Non-stop complaining about being bored
    Refereeing fight because they’re bored
Being eaten out of house and home. Seriously all they do is eat
The lawn starts growing back before you’ve even finished cutting it
    *kitten* mosquitos
    Not having a silent house
Dear god is it getting hotter?
Close the *kitten* door, I’m not air conditioning the entire neighborhood!!
    Are you eating again?
Of course the A/C is broke, why wouldn’t it be?
If you kids don’t get out of my sight, someone’s getting hurt.
Jesus Christ when does school start back up?

The lawn is ridiculous...and my a.c. broke last summer and i got to enjoy sleeping in a living room with temps of 80 plus while my ex complained he had to keep the kids an extra week

It's hot and humid and all my kids want to do is watch tv all day, so I'm stuck at home and so bored. And my favorite shows are on break.

Really not looking forward to it. And the mosquitos.. ugh.

I like leaving the house in 95 degree weather, 111 heat index where you break sweat just walking to the car.

Last year the outside temperature gauge on my car read: 122 Degrees

    ... it was accurate too.

Yeah, summer gets a little warm here....
