Hello all !
I have been reasonably fit until the past year . I was doing well , nearly where I wanted to be and then fall and winter hit . During that time ,without exessively changing habits ,I gained 10lbs, that I cannot budge . I calorie restrict ,I work out ,but the usual tricks that I have done in the past haven’t been working. Any tips and pointers are appreciated :)

Tighten up your logging. When you don't have much to lose, you have to be as accurate as possible. Log everything, weigh as much of your solids as possible and measure all liquids, use the recipe builder over "generic" or "homemade" database entries.

If you are not losing that means you are not creating a caloric deficit.
    Calories in calories out.
Tighten up your logging. Use a food scale.

2nd vote for careful logging particularly when you have a small amount to lose. Buy some digital scales and weigh absolutely everything. Change to low fat wherever possible to reduce kj. exercise 10% more (or more)! Good luck - I am trying to shift the final 5 lbs and it's not easy!

Forget tricks and tips for now, and go back to basics, learn how weight is controlled.

Blaming things you can't do anything with, and focusing on things that not really have an impact, makes it harder to lose/maintain.

You don't have to change habits a lot in order to gain weight, a small calorie surplus over time is enough. You don't deliberately set out to gain weight, it just feels good to eat and it can feel good to be lazy, so weight gain can sneak up on you.

If having a certain weight is your only incentive, it's very difficult to keep up a lifestyle that you find hard.

Once I became menopausal, I gained so much weight. No matter what I did, couldn’t lose. Plus I was exhausted all the time. I had to get my hormone levels right again. Now I’m back keeping track on MyFitnessPal again. Finally seeing results. Now it’s time to up the exercises.
