Hi All! I have a great group of MFP friends who are very encouraging and I appreciate them very much. Also want to have other “slow loser” friends. That is, people losing slowly on purpose for any reason. Here are my top reasons:

1. I always binge or quit if I try to lose more than half a pound a week.
2. My goal is to lose 30 pounds by the time I am 40 years old. This is 100 weeks away. When I reach 30 pounds lost, I will be at a healthy BMI with a few pounds to spare.
3. I hope that by losing more slowly, maintenance will be easier as it will be similar to what I’ve been doing for a long while.

If any of this sounds like you, please send me a friend request. Thanks! :)

I highly recommend disregarding the BMI standard. For most it is a highly unrealistic standard. Focus on your body fat percentage. That is about the only valid determination of health. And even that can be subjective to a degree.
