I have been on mfp for about a month. I’m eating around 1300 to 1500 calories a day, and losing weight about 1lb a week. I’m not deliberately doing low carb, but I have upped my proteins considerably to keep me sated.
I am so so thirsty. My food isn’t particularly high in sodium I don’t think, but I am drinking and running to the loo all day. Is this just a side effect of lowering my calories?

Not really. You might want to see your doctor.

Thirst can be a sign of early diabetes but I'm sure it's nothing like that. Best get checked out just incase .

How much water are you drinking in a given day? Is your thirst being quenched at all? Like PP mentioned, extreme thirst can be an early sign of Diabetes.

Get checked out, and make sure you've not gone too low on sodium.

If you're drinking too much, that can also make you thirsty.

Phentermine gave me dry mouth, which made me thirsty. Are you taking any medications?

Good point. Zyrtec sometimes does that when I've missed a few doses.

Thanks to you all. I’m not on any medication, I feel absolutely fine other than thirsty, but I shall get it checked out with the doc. Thanks for the advice x

When I increased my water intake to keep me adequately hydrated (light yellow pee), I noticed the more water I drink, the more water I drink. Not necessarily "thristy", but I want the refreshment of water, tea, sparkling flavored water, etc.

I’m always thirsty when I cut. Idk if it’s the fact I’m wanting to fill my stomach a little or that the body holds onto less water when you lose more weight, but it’s common for ne
