Options
Hii, so yesterday i skipped tea, as i wasnt feeling hungry and i had 800 cals left out of 1200, so i didnt eat tea, weighed my self this morning and down 4lbs within a day, will this go up if i eat? Or will this stay like this? Is it only because i skipped a meal ?

Thanks

It's probably not permanent, sadly. Those kinds of drops are common, possibly because of mild dehydration, possibly some of it because, as the above poister noted, you physically had less in your system to digest at that moment, and some just random fluctuation.
Depending on your last weigh on, you could also have had some water weight last time, that you just happened to to drop today. I know when I am on my period, have sorr muscles from over excercising or injury, or just happen to be having a fibro flare, the inflammation will create an artificial weight bump for a few days, until everything settles back down to normal.

Since your weight loss is geared for an entire week not just a day you should feel comfortable eating those 800 calories back as soon as today if you are hungrier.

As someone who has lower appetite days I can tell you from experience you should assess how you feel today. If you are feeling really low the next time you have one of these days (if it happens) plan to eat closer to 800 even if you have to force it. Listening to your body is one thing but sacrificing how you feel the next day is not a good habit to get in.

In the same way that you might be so full from a large dinner the night before and so you don't have breakfast, you may find yourself much hungrier this morning.

I do judo, so I have to weigh in in the morning of a contest to make sure I'm in my weight category. I have done the whole not eating or drinking the night before. It's not permanent, the moment you eat food, you will gain weight. The moment you use the bathroom, you lose weight. It's a case of physically having stuff in your body. If you eat 500g of food and drink 500ml of water, you can expect to gain 1kg (~2lbs) of weight. This is why it's generally recommended to weigh yourself at the same time every day (for most people it's first thing in the morning)

Also, on a normal day weigh yourself just before you go to bed, and straight away after you wake up. I've found this number can be lower by anything up to about 0.5kg (just over 1lb). This is literally the amount of sweat and energy that you use being asleep.

I can easily flush 3-4 lbs down the toilet. That's why I don't weigh myself daily. I'm down 99 lbs so far, but just for fun (!) I weighed myself 36 hours after my weekly weigh-in and I was up 4 lbs! No worries, I'll "lose" those 4 lbs and another 4-5 by the next weigh-in.

Wait. You only consumed 400 calories yesterday? Or am I reading that wrong?

Your 4 pound drop in weight is not fat loss, just water weight.

You only ate 400 calories for the day????

I hope you really don't believe that you can drop fat that fast in 24 hours? Its temporary, when you eat and drink again it will come back.

I can see your profile pic change while logged on the web, you look very lean so I hope this day was a one time thing.

...and you're proud of that? And how do you eat tea? Considering you have an eating disorder, all I can tell you is to seek a help specialist that deals with eating disorder, because your jumping back into it if you haven't already.

Tea is what they call dinner across the pond.

Tea is your evening meal if you're from parts of the UK. Not the hot drink

Also, judging by the photo of the OP, I don't even know why she still wants to lose weight, she is already lean enough, there's no point in losing more weight.

I suspect it's the ED, with the accompanying body dysmorphia.

I hope this post changes her life and starts embracing eating a little bit more and build some muscles (if she lifts), I wouldn't want to see the end result if she continues this path.
