You can make notes about your blood pressure in the notes section of your food diary but I don't think there is any way to chart it like calories and exercise.0

Either that, or you can put it in a blog...and the bonus is that blogging can be like a way to be accountable to yourself and anyone that reads it
Good luck! I know you can do it!0 -
Not necessarily older, but I'll be 42 next week and I'm tipping the scales at 307#.
Don't know how much good I'll be as an accountability partner, but I can do my best.
Good luck to you! And God bless.0 -
You can record your BP in the exercise notes as well. I would also recommend you edit your food goals to add sodium to the nutrients you track and customize the amount of sodium to 1500mg (if you haven't already done so). It is definitely not easy keeping it to 1500mg every day. I never realized how much sodium I was eating until I started tracking. What an eye opener! I also have to monitor my BP. Last time I was in to see my doctor I had the best results yet. Good luck to you. You can add me as a friend if you like.0

Not an older fat guy - but I WAS a fat (and still oldER) lady, lol.
Knee surgery loomed overhead for me, so I got very serious w/my weight loss goals. My kids also intervened - was my daughter who sent me here on MFP. Well, my BP was controlled - but with three meds! (I track my sodium as someone else described).
I'm doing much better all around. After losing this 41 lbs, my BP has gone down a LOT. I mean, it's down to normal (rare before, even w/the meds). I ran out of some of my meds (changed drs after moving away fr the old one). My new primary care wants me to take two meds instead of the three. I was hoping to take just one - my goal is none, but I still need to lose about 60 lbs.
Knees are incredibly better, too - still have cartilage loss, but I'm hoping to avoid surgery in the future (but my attitude is, if I do have to have them done later on, I am going in totally positive that I'll do great). For now, I have almost no pain.
You (and anyone else) can add me as a friend if you'd like. You CAN do this!0 -
Thanks. Good luck on your quest. Its a personal journey, but it is supportive to read about the path of others.0

Thanks. Good point about monitoring sodium. I must learn the techniques of customizing MFP for my own needs. Appreciate your response.0

Thanks for your response, and congratulations on your weight loss progress. I must learn more about the customizable features of MFP, but so far, it seems easy to track food & exercise. Bottom line is keeping this data front in my mind. That seems to be my biggest hurdle.0
