Hi, my name is Teresa and I just started myfitnesspal it is very challenging but I know with the support of all of you I can do this I so need to get healthy. I am determined I think the hardest thing about all this is I can't really eat that much I'm on a 1,200 calorie diet so as you all know that is not a lot of food. If we all stick together and support one another we can do this. My biggest down fall is I like to eat out. THANK YOU all for your support and help through this journey of mine God Bless.

What weight loss goal per week did you set 2lb or more?
A more reasonable goal would be 1lb per week, you'd have more calories, its more sustainable.1 -
Losing weight isn't that difficult when you do it right. Maybe you should eat more than 1200 calories. What's your height and weight?0

Hi
I'm also on here to lose weight. Good luck! I lived on fast food the last couple of months and it was very hard breaking that habit. I feel your pain!
What type of diet are you trying to follow? Just curious! We could try to exchange some meal ideas or suggestions.0 -

Agreed with above. At the very most, set it to 1.5lbs/week. You didn't mention your age, but your TDEE for sedentary should be around 2300/day which means you should be eating no less than 1300/day for a 2lb/week weight loss. Honestly, at 300lbs, you would be fine at 1500-1800 for a while (until your weight comes on down some). Unfortunately, height plays into it, as well, but if you can get a few short walks in and even some sitting exercising, that will aid your weight loss tremendously. There, your weight is an advantage for you'll burn more calories than a smaller person.0 -

Double check that you input your stats correctly, as considering your stats I would think you'd be closer to 1400 for 2 lbs per week.
Anyway, there is no harm at starting the first few weeks with a lower weekly weight loss goal and then working up to 1.5 or 2 lbs per week if you want. That way you can reduce your calories in steps rather than all at once.
And that goal is without exercise. If you exercise, log it and eat those extra calories. Read the Most Helpful Posts thread pinned to the top of each forum, and good luck!0 -
If you're having trouble staying full, try eating more protein per meal. It will help you feel fuller longer, and drink lots of water to trick your stomach into thinking it's full.
Best of luck to you!1
