My story

Hi all,
Thought I'd better introduce myself as i have now been using MyFitnessPal for about a week.
I'm currently 38 years old and weigh 241lbs I have been trying to lose weight for years and i have had some success as quite afew years ago I did manage to lose 42lbs but as normal (at least in my life) I put that weight back on.
This time as I am older i am also more determined to lose the weight even if it is a lot harder to do than when i was younger.
I started my current weight loss last June when I weighed 266lbs. I lost 28lbs before the New Year but I have struggled to lose any since then (as you can see I have also put a few pounds back on).
Its only been since I found MyFitnessPal app that I am starting to undewrstand why I may not have lost weight.
As time has gone on I have increased my cardio and weights. What I did not do was compensate the calories that I would have lost training by eating the right foods. example my target calories is approx 1760 I can easily burn 500 calories within 45 minutes of just doing cardio but I would still just have around 1700 calories a day in actual food. This was obviously just an actual intake of 1200 calories after taking into account the calories burned.
Still, the app is actually helping me keep more of a track of what I am eating and what I am burning whilst exercising so hopefuly the end result will mean that I will reach my target weight loss.
As I already mentioned When I started I was 266lbs my target is to be 168lbs by June 2013 (when I turn 40). So thats really only 73lbs to go.
Cheers for reading, hope I didnt bore you too much lol

Hiya, I'm the same age too, and hoping that it's a good age for finally winning this weight loss battle. It doesn't seem like that long ago that I was setting myself targets to reach by my 30th birthday (which needless to say, I didn't meet!) However, I do feel a lot more positive this time, and have stuck with this properly for a lot longer than I have with anything else. Feel free to add me if you are looking for friends on here )0

Hey guys,
Thanks for all the great messages, I am sure as many of you have already said that we can all meet our goals.
I will add some of you as friends as time goes by but allow me to give you a little phrase that helps me keep motivated.
"I dont want to die of a heart attack".
I know it sounds harsh but it is the truth and I say it at least once a week in front of the bathroom mirror and also when I am feeling low.0
