Wedding dress doesn't fit!!

I bought my dress a bit over a year ago without a worry. Well, Saturday I was supposed to get it hemmed but it didn't fit!! I'm freaking out a little bit here. It won't go over my butt/hips.
I have started a strict diet and exercise plan. Probably not healthy but I'm desperate. My wedding is July 2nd of this year. My fiance is completely supportive and actually doing the diet with me. We are eating mainly veg, with protein from eggs, chicken and tuna.
A little history: A few years ago I lost 70 lbs. I went from 195 to 128. However, now I'm back at 175 so I know what I'm doing for the most part.
Yesterday and today, I've exercised away all the calories I've eaten. (Over 1200) I've also increased my water intake.
My plan is: three days a week 30 min weights and 30 min HIIT. The other two days: 30 min HIIT and 30 min steady state cardio.
Any tips? Advice?

Get it altered. You don’t need the additional stress. Best wishes.18

Can't make it larger. There's not enough time to order the fabric, if they can even find it, and we have a low budget.
Thanks though.0 -
How much weight do you think you need to lose?0

An inch or two around my hips. Maybe 10lbs? Give or take.0 -
10 pounds? Low carb and Spanx. You can do this!7

What about making it lace up the back with eyeholes and silk ribbons. Surely, someone could fix that and you wouldn't have stress about one thing.2

Thanks but it's already a corset back which makes my belly not the issue. It literally won't go over my "butt smile" when stepping into.1 -

This is a recipe for disaster. Your body burns more than 1200 calories without you having to do much more than get out of bed. You are seting yourself up to pass out or worse.6 -
If all you need is for a little more space when stepping in. Could someone open the back seam below the eyelets, for a light weight invisible zipper to be added?
Extending the opening below the eyelets should make getting into your dress much easier. First though Are the lacings slackened as much as possible right down to the bottom of the opening. If they are still too tight they could cause a restriction, its probably a daft question. A tiny safety pin, would be necessary to restore the lacing if this can be done and is enough. Even a needle and thread attached to the lace, to pass more easily through the eyelets to reposition it again, might work.
Adding a 4 inch zipper at the bottom of the lacings would yield say an extra 6 possibly 7 inches to the "step in". The zipper would need to be long enough but not too long because the zipper fabric itself could compromise the drape were it too long, I don't think you would need to go as far as a 6 inch zipper, estimated additional "step in" released 10 inches. You would need to measure the teeth of the zipper, then just under double the length, to have a better idea of how much extra step in this would provide. (I do my own sewing/dressmaking)
All the very best.7 -

Yes. Please, please, don't do this to yourself. You want to drop 10 lbs... that is not so much. I probably lost about 8 or 9 due to stress only and organizing everything, all the trips, etc. in the last month before the wedding. They will go without you creating a negative calorie balance for the day, which is nothing but trouble.
Also, you probably want to be rested and well-fed for the big day Passing out in church or at the reception is not great. If you don't want to (or can't) alter the dress, then I completely agree with the low carb and spandex advice.4 -
If you can’t get it on by stepping in, can you get it on over your head? I have a lot of perfectly fitting dresses that won’t go over my butt...8

Did the dressmaker at the Bridal Boutique suggest a full butt adjustment for your dress? Odd if she didn't, baring in mind that you were there to get your hemline adjusted.0

Put it on over your head.
How much did you weigh when you bought it?1 -
Spanx can be a lifesaver!!!! Try to lose what you safely can, get some Spanx and see if that works. If not, an alteration is needed!!!0

I never thought to ask about adding a zipper. Thanks!!
To answer a few other questions: I was about 140lbs when I bought it. 175 now.
I bought the dress from a lady starting up her own bridal business, and brought it to a local shop for the hemming because they offered to do it for less than $100. (Yes I made sure they were reputable.)

Spanx are amazing they can help drop a dress size!1

35 pounds is a lot to ask from Spanx OP, if the dress can't be altered to fit, you may have to accept that your only options are to buy a new dress or moving your wedding date, since starting 6 months ago (what you'd need to realistically lose 35 pounds at your current weight) isn't an option. Sorry4

I'm curious why you waited for a year to try it on. A new zipper. I'm with others here, you just don't need the added stress and pressure of trying to outexercise or undereat to fit into a dress. Don't do that to yourself.0

I had my dress fitting around 6 weeks before the wedding, it's quite normal.
though if I knew i had gained weight I would probably have gone sooner.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing!1 -
Not trying to be critical, but I'm also curious as to why you waited until less than a month out for the hem/fitting.
That's not a lot of time especially during peak season to find a seamstress willing and able to fit you in for the needed alteration in the price point you desire. My MIL is a seamstress, and I know that when she was working full time, she'd be booked 3 months out.3 -
Have you considered selling this dress and finding a different dress that fits?
If you bought the dress when you were 35 lbs lighter why would 10 lbs help it fit?
Don't do extreme things to try to fit into a dress. There are many, many nice dresses. There is one you. Don't damage your health for a dress.5 -
Deleted.
Thought better of my reaction LOL1 -
Stop this craziness. Get the dress altered. Are you trying to make yourself sick with the added stress?0
